Unlike the vast majority of high-profile athletes and celebrities, Pro Football Hall of Famer and legendary NFL quarterback Brett Favre has not been shy to publicly share his political beliefs.
But unless Brett Favre takes joy out of being savagely roasted on social media, his best bet may be to either a) tone it down, b) edit who can reply to his posts or, c) simply block the people who are trolling him.
Last week, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes decided to stay clear of public political discussions and emphasized that he wouldn’t use his platform to endorse a candidate for the 2024 United States presidential election between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.
Brett Favre took to X/Twitter to commend Mahomes for deciding against influencing his audience and “letting the people think for themselves.”
Good take by Mahomes — I see a lot of celebs trying to influence their audience instead of letting the people think for themselves.
If the best choice for them ain’t clear and they’re easily swayed by their fav pop artist, it’s not going to be a good thing. https://t.co/kReCND6Q9C

Let’s just say that Favre is better off not looking through his replies to the political post:

Fans didn’t forget that Favre took to Twitter to endorse the incumbent ahead of the 2020 election between Trump and Joe Biden. The Democratic nominee went on to win the election, marking the first time that the incumbent lost their re-election bid since George H.W. Bush fell to Bill Clinton in 1992.
Favre has publicly supported Trump numerous times and has frequently criticized Biden, who announced in July that he was withdrawing from the race. Harris was named the new Democratic nominee.
The 2024 presidential election will be held on Nov. 5.
Brett Favre Is One Of Many Notable Athletes To Endorse Donald Trump
The three-time league MVP is far from the only big-named athlete (past or present) to endorse Trump and/or donate to his campaigns.
NFL greats like John Elway, Jim Brown and Mike Ditka, MLB legends Curt Schilling, Mariano Rivera and Johnny Damon, Hockey Hall of Famer Bobby Orr and boxing icon Mike Tyson have also voiced their support for Trump.
