Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield received a letter from the NFL, which served as a reminder following his ill-advised actions on the bench during his team’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday.

Mayfield was seen using a Zyn nicotine pouch while on the sideline, and videos of the incident from the ‘MNF’ fixture went viral online.

While the move earned him some plaudits from fans, Zyn condemned his usage, letting him know that, while they appreciate his love for their product, they do not want it advertised on any platform where it would be exposed to viewers below the age of 21.

The QB also fell afoul of NFL rules, as the league’s policy prohibits the use of tobacco and nicotine products on the sidelines or during interviews.

Baker Mayfield Can Expect To Be Fined If He Does This Again

The NFL hasn’t issued a formal warning to the player, but he did receive a letter reminding him of their policy, per ESPN’s Jenna Laine. It’s understood that he would attract a fine should he repeat the action.

Mayfield will hope to move on from Monday’s loss this Sunday, with the Bucs playing the Atlanta Falcons in Week 8.

They were trailing 20-14 heading into halftime at the time of writing. Mayfield had completed an impressive 15 of 17 passing attempts for 132 yards and two touchdowns.
