Taylor Swift Reacts to Travis Kelce Making History on Christmas Day
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is one of the more decorated tight ends in NFL history.
With three Super Bowl championships, seven All-Pro selections, and nine Pro Bowls, Kelce’s resume is second-to-none. He already holds several NFL records including single-season receiving yards by a tight end (1,416), 100-yard games by a tight end (39), 1,000-yard seasons by a tight end (seven), career postseason receptions (165), and career postseason receiving yards by a tight end (1,903), and he added one more on Wednesday.
On top of becoming the 15th player in NFL history to reach the 1,000-reception milestone, Kelce also broke another record and passed a legend in the process.
With his fourth-quarter touchdown that put the Chiefs up 29-10 in their Christmas Day matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Netflix, Kelce scored his 77th career touchdown, passing Chiefs icon and Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez for the most touchdown catches in franchise history.
It was Kelce’s third touchdown of the season and his first since KC’s Week 10 win over the Denver Broncos.
Though Kelce’s girlfriend Taylor Swift wasn’t in attendance at the game, which was played in Pittsburgh, she did turn heads with her social media activity after Kelce’s accomplishment.
The Chiefs posted a congratulatory message to Kelce on Instagram, as did the official account of his “New Heights” podcast, and fans noticed Swift, who doesn’t post on social media much, liked both posts.

Swift has attended seven of the Chiefs’ eight homes games this season (they’ve won every one). Though she attended some of the team’s away games last season, she’s stuck to only going to games at Arrowhead Stadium this year due to concerns of over security at road venues.
Kelce finished Wednesday’s win with eight catches, 87 yards and a touchdown.
Though many believe Kelce is having a down season by his standards, he’s still among the league leaders at his position. Among TEs, Kelce ranks first in targets (133), second in receptions (97) and fourth in receiving yards (823).
