Patrick Mahomes Sr. is in jail.

The 54-year-old father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes began serving his jail sentence for a drunk driving conviction earlier this year.

Mahomes Sr. was sentenced to 10 days in jail, five years of probation, and one year of “intensive supervision” after pleading guilty to his third DUI charge.

He was arrested in February, just days before the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers.

Cops pulled Mahomes Sr. over since his registration had expired and arrested him after performing sobriety tests. He had a BAC of 0.23.

They would find open 16-ounce Coors beer in his car at the time of his arrest, and he told police he had consumed a few drinks at a local bar before driving.

The former Mets reliever is expected to be released on Oct. 31, a Smith County (Texas) jail official told TMZ.

He previously received a second DWI charge in 2019 and spent 40 days in jail in 2019 and 2020.

Patrick Mahomes Sr. Tried And Failed To Use Son’s Name After Arrest

Patrick “Pat” Mahomes Sr., a former MLB star and the father of Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes II, was sentenced to five years’ probation for a DWI third time or more charge in connection to being arrested in February.

Body camera footage not only showed what led to Mahomes’ arrest but also showed him trying to use his son’s name to get out of it.

In video police footage obtained by TMZ, Mahomes pleaded with officers while he was in handcuffs and mentioned his son’s name multiple times.

“Can I say one thing?” Mahomes Sr. began. “My son is getting ready to play in the f—ing Super Bowl.”

“Just listen to me. I am not drunk. I promise you. I’ve had some drinks. But he can’t have this right now. Listen, this can’t happen … Patrick Mahomes.”
