What is going to happen between the New York Jets and Aaron Rodgers?

Former Jets coach Eric Mangini seems to think that Rodgers is doing “everything he can to get cut” by owner Woody Johnson.

While appearing on “The Herd” with Colin Cowherd on FS1, Mangini stated how Rodgers referenced Johnson’s teenage son, Brick Johnson, in his statement.

“The fact that Aaron brought up the, ‘I’ve never been cut by a teenager, I’ve never been released by a teenager,’ that’s a direct shot at the owner,” Mangini said.

“That’s legitimizing everything that’s been said in that organization. That’s making fun of how dysfunctional it is.”

Aaron Rodgers stated this earlier in the week while appearing on ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show.”

The four-time MVP joked that it would “make for a great story” if Johnson’s son was the one who was calling the shots in the front office.

“So to me, as soon as he said that, in my mind said he wants out. But he doesn’t want to retire, obviously. He wants to get paid and not have to deal with any of the givebacks that come with retirement.”

The four-time NFL MVP has thrown for 3,623 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

Unlike last year, when Aaron Rodgers suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in Week 1, you cannot really point to a particular point in the season when it all went wrong.

The latest embarrassment came on Sunday as Rodgers was pulled midway through Sunday’s 40-14 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Rodgers threw two interceptions as the Jets dropped to 4-12.

He has already acknowledged that his future is uncertain, and he will need to take some time to decide whether to continue his playing career in 2025.

Rodgers has gone on record to state that he would love to be back with the Jets, but it is ultimately up to the team who might want to pursue a younger starter in free agency or the 2025 NFL draft.

Aaron Rodgers Makes Terrible History On Sunday

On Sunday, Rodgers made history.

The 41-year-old was sacked four times to push his career total to 568 in becoming the NFL’s most-sacked quarterback.

A quarterback getting called for a late hit is not something we see very often, but it was the case with Aaron Rodgers against the Bills on Sunday.

The Jets QB threw a pick on a third-and-19 while New York was down 12-0 in the third quarter, with Christian Benford making the play. He returned it for around 25 yards before heading out of bounds and getting shoved by Rodgers.

The four-time MVP was penalized for unnecessary roughness in what could be an unprecedented call where QBs are concerned. Head referee Clete Blakeman couldn’t even keep a straight face while announcing the penalty.

Aaron Rodgers Made History On Sunday

Aaron Rodgers set some unwanted records in the 40-14 loss on Sunday. The veteran QB became the most-sacked signal-caller in NFL history and possibly became the first to get called for a late hit.

As for the Jets, they’re now 4-12 on the back of this latest loss.

It’s hard to believe they’ve actually gotten worse since moving on from Zach Wilson.
