Bears HC Matt Eberflus Reveals How Tyrique Stevenson Reacted In Front Of His Teammates After Taunting Commanders Fans Moments Before Allowing Jayden Daniels' Hail Mary CompletionTyrique Stevenson (Photos Getty Images)
Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus has revealed that cornerback Tyrique Stevenson apologized to his teammates following a mistake that allowed the Washington Commanders to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat at home on Sunday.

The Commanders stole an 18-15 win via an insane Hail Mary throw from Jayden Daniels with no time left on the clock.

Stevenson missed his coverage as he was busy taunting Washington fans near the end zone, and then he compounded the error by tipping the ball to Noah Brown for the unlikely completion.

Eberflus confirmed that Stevenson was the player assigned to Brown and also disclosed that the player took full responsibility for the loss in a speech to his teammates.

“It was a really good moment for him to be able to do that, show responsibility and accountability,” the coach said, per Chris Emma of 670 The Score.

Tyrique Stevenson Is Facing Internal Punishment

Stevenson has also issued an apology via social media.

“To Chicago and teammates my apologies for lack of awareness and focus,” he wrote in a tweet. “The game ain’t over until zeros hit the clock. Can’t take anything for granted. Notes taken, improvement will happen.”

Despite the apologies, Eberflus informed reporters that the team would consider potential punishment for the player but that any discipline would remain in-house.

Stevenson’s teammate, tight end Cole Kmet, also discussed the mistake with the press, claiming the locker room appreciated Stevenson’s honesty.

The loss leaves Chicago with a 4-3 record following Caleb Williams’ first seven games under center. They are scheduled to face the Arizona Cardinals on the road before playing their next three games at home.

Jayden Daniels has quite possibly made the play of the season, having thrown an unbelievable Hail Mary to snatch a win from the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

The Washington Commanders rookie QB came out on top of his first clash vs. Caleb Williams, signing off in style as he won the game on the very last snap, though he did have some help from a Bears defender.

Someone edited a clip of the play, adding one of the songs from the ‘Titanic’ soundtrack, and it’s just incredible.

Fans Love This Version Of The Jayden Daniels Hail Mary

Fans were all in agreement over this one.

“This game was more dramatic than the Titanic movie 😂,” someone laughed.

“Just unreal. Absolutely unreal,” another added.

“I used to dream of times like these 🥹,” a fan wrote.

“You could watch that all night. Brilliant,” someone claimed.

Daniels is having a sensational first season in the pros and should see multiple awards come his way should he keep up his scintillating form. It wouldn’t surprise anyone if his name came up in the MVP conversation either.
