The Kansas City Chiefs are dealing with an injury to starting running back Isiah Pachecho, who will be sidelined for four to six weeks after suffering a fractured fibula. To help combat the loss of Pachecho, the team will officially bring back a familiar face.
It was announced that former Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt was set to visit the team. Now, Kansas City has officially signed the former backfield star to the practice squad.
Longtime NFL insider Ian Rapoport revealed the news on X, stating:
“Reunion: The #Chiefs are signing their own former star RB Kareem Hunt, who visited with and worked out for the team today, source says. Hell start on the PS and help fill the void left by Isiah Pacheco’s injury, which will put him out potentially two months.”
With Pachecho being sidelined for at least two months, Hunt can now work his way into the lineup, potentially becoming the starter for the foreseeable future.
