Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud had the worst game of his career on a national stage.
The Houston Texans played so poorly in a 31-2 loss to the Baltimore Ravens that the sellout crowd inside NRG Stadium was already booing before they even saw Beyoncé’s halftime show.
Beyonce showed up and gave the fans something to cheer about.
Once the second half began, the Texans made no adjustments and found themselves being booed several more times before thousands of fans began making their early exit.
Stroud was fine with Wednesday’s crowd response, especially after he admitted that he had “probably one of my worst games of my whole career.”
“People are entitled to their opinions. They care about the game. Their emotions matter, so I understand,” said CJ Stroud.
“This is not my first time and probably won’t be my last. It’s not something to internalize and point the finger at yourself but it is something that you can use to motivate you, to not want those moments anymore.”

Stroud completed 17-of-31 passes for 185 yards and one interception.
The Houston Texans’ defense scored 2 points that came from a safety, while the offense produced zero points against the Baltimore Ravens.
The Texans only had 213 total yards on the day. Their rushing game was non-existent, as they had 38 total rushing yards, while the Ravens had 229.
CJ Stroud Has Regressed In Year Two
Second-year Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud, and his teammates heard boos from the home crowd during the club’s disappointing 31-2 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Christmas Day.
Stroud has been heavily criticized for his downplay in 2024.
After earning Offensive Rookie of the Year Award honors for the 2023 season, Stroud hasn’t improved as expected.
ESPN stats ranks him 25th in the NFL among qualified players with a 49.1 adjusted QBR and an 86.0 passer rating on the campaign.
So far in 2024, Stroud has tossed 19 touchdown passes and 12 interceptions over 16 games.

Stroud completed 17 of 31 pass attempts for 185 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception while adding seven rushing yards against the Baltimore Ravens.
It wasn’t even close to enough, as the Texans lost the game 31-2. The Texans’ offense scored zero points, while the defense scored two on a safety.
Stroud never looked settled in the pocket against Baltimore, missing a handful of short passes to open receivers that doomed several offensive drives. This has actually been the theme of his 2024 season, as he has struggled throughout despite the team’s good record and heading to the playoffs.
Social media is now convinced that they know the exact moment when CJ Stroud triggered his own downfall.
He was spotted walking with Amber Rose and both of them getting into his vehicle following a celebrity softball game.
“Was this the Downfall of CJ Stroud?” one fan said.

“Stroud been ass ever since that date with Amber Rose,” a second added.

CJ Stroud was one of the breakout stars of the 2023 NFL season as he was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year after throwing for 4,108 yards and 23 touchdowns to lead the Texans to the playoffs for the first time since the 2019 season.
The team also won a playoff game.
Although the team is headed back to the playoffs after another AFC South division win, not many see them making any noise.
Amber Rose Denies CJ Stroud Dating Rumors
Stroud faced criticism from fans on social media after being spotted with Amber Rose earlier this year.
Amber Rose clarified her relationship status with the Houston Texans quarterback after social media went crazy.
In response to speculation that they were dating, the social media personality clarified they hadn’t met before playing in an HBCU Celebrity Softball Game.
Rose denied rumors that she was in a relationship with Stroud, per Alex Ocho of Complex.com.
“We literally don’t know each other and only met yesterday at a softball game,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories. “The sprinter left me and he was nice enough to give me a ride to my hotel thx again @cj7stroud.”
It was noted by TMZ at the time that Rose was “not formally seeing anyone at the moment,” but added “Stroud is reportedly single too.”
