Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott revealed the wholesome message he had for Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson after the latter suffered a gruesome injury in Sunday’s game at AT&T Stadium.
Hutchinson had to be carted off the field after suffering a leg injury in the third quarter of the Lions’ 47-9 blowout win over Dak Prescott’s Cowboys. It was later announced that he underwent surgery to repair a fractured tibia and fibula, and it’s unclear if Hutchinson will return this season.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Prescott shared the classy message he had for Detroit’s star pass-rusher following the heartbreaking scene that unfolded, via Garrett Podell of CBS Sports:
“Obviously, that’s tough to watch, as you said, having experienced it, knowing where he is in that moment. Hated it. Hated every bit of it. But for me, initially, I just told him to keep his head up. It’s part of the story. I promise, the way that this guy started his career, the guy he seems to be, not knowing him, he’ll be better after it. I know it’s probably hard to imagine right now.
Then the last part, I just told him [on the field] it’s part of the story. It’s part of his story…So, game changer, wishing him the best in his recovery. I know it’s going to be a mental challenge as much as it is physical, but the way that he started his career, and the player that he seems to be, I imagine he’ll be just fine and recover from it.”
Hutchinson had one sack, three quarterback hits and a tackle for a loss in the Lions’ 47-9 victory that moved them to 5-1 on the year. Winners of three straight, the Lions will look to claim sole possession of first place in the NFC North when they visit the 5-0 Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

Dak Prescott himself had a tough outing in what was one of the most humiliating losses in Dallas Cowboys history. The 31-year-old completed just 17 of 33 pass attempts for 178 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions in the loss.
The 3-3 Cowboys get a much-needed bye week and time to rest up before traveling to Levi’s Stadium for a Week 8 road game against the San Francisco 49ers on “Sunday Night Football.”
Dak Prescott & Cowboys Are Struggling At Home
The Cowboys went unbeaten at home for nearly two full years before losing to the New Orleans Saints at home in Week 2. That was followed by a close Week 3 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, with consecutive road wins bringing them to 3-2.
With Sunday’s humiliating loss, the Cowboys are inexplicably 0-3 now at Jerry World. A fourth straight playoff berth is essentially out of the question if they can’t solve the home funk, and quickly.

Lions DE Aidan Hutchinson suffered a season-ending fractured tibia on Sunday.
Hutchinson was attempting to make a play in the backfield against Dak Prescott when his leg whipped and struck another player’s leg.
He would soon be surrounded by teammates and Cowboys players before being carted off the field to be taken directly to a hospital.
After the game, lions head coach Dan Campbell said that Aidan Hutchinson is staying at the hospital in Dallas for treatment.
On top of that, his injury was so bad that he immediately had emergency surgery.
Campbell was asked if Hutchinson went into immediate surgery for a “compound fracture,” and he said “yes.”

The Lions held a 34-6 lead at the time of the injury and went on to win 47-9.
Hutchinson entered Sunday leading the NFL with 6.5 sacks.
“It was tough,” Campbell said. “He’s in good hands right now. He’s being taken care of. He’ll stay back here, and obviously, he’s going to be down for a little while.
“That’s tough. It’s hard when you lose somebody like him. But we’ll know a lot more after this and, obviously, wish him the best.”
Losing Aidan Hutchinson Spells Doom For The Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions were victorious on Sunday, but they somehow lost in the end.
Aidan Hutchinson fractured his tibia, which is going to have him down for the remainder of the year.
Entering today’s game, Hutchinson had appeared in four games for the Lions and recorded 16 tackles and 6.5 sacks to go along with a forced fumble.
Losing their best player on defense will certainly affect the team’s style of play.
As you can see, the team held the Cowboys to zero touchdowns.
