Can we expect a Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers reunion?

In what has become an annual occurrence, Las Vegas Raiders wideout Davante Adams has yet again not shut down the notion of him playing elsewhere.

Adams addressed the trade rumors on the newest episode of Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast, which was released on Wednesday. This episode came one day after his agents issued a statement denying that any trade talks were taking place.

“Well, I’ll answer it like this: If I’m gonna be reunited with anybody, it would be Aaron — or relocated and be anywhere, it’d be with Aaron,” Adams said.

Adams continued, per The NY Post:

“But that’s not really my — there was a lot of that stuff going on last year in the media and them asking, ‘What are you gonna do about this? Are you thinking about going here?’ And they talk about whatever without me even being involved in it.

“And it ended up getting all the way to the point where it got in the locker room, and people was thinking that I was the driving force, and I’m like, y’all just don’t understand, man. When you — and I hate to say it like this because it makes me sound like I’m trying to put myself on a pedestal — but when you’re a certain level of player, it don’t have to come from you, and oftentimes it’s not coming from you.”

The 31-year-old six-time Pro Bowler also wanted to make it clear that he is locked in with his Raiders team and feels good about their direction.

“I’m actively on the Raiders. What do I look like sitting here talking to other people about being on another team? And that’s how I still feel about it right now,” said Adams, who’s entering the third season of a five-year, $140 million contract. “I’m locked in with the Raiders and I really feel good about this team, and as far as I know they feel good about me. If that ever changes, if that got to a point where they weren’t feeling the same way, I ain’t done playing, so obviously, we would figure out whatever we needed to figure out.”

However, he couldn’t help but think about the possibility of having one more chance to play alongside Aaron Rodgers.

“The thought of playing with Aaron is obviously amazing,” Adams said. “I already know what that’s like — which is similar to why I came here and reunited with Derek [Carr] was ’cause I had familiarity with him. And anytime you have that, it gives you a little bit more confidence than starting fresh with somebody you’ve never played with before, and it helps when they’re the best to ever play the game — or at least that’s how I feel. I don’t know how you feel about that, but that’s certainly how I feel, and [Rodgers has] given me an opportunity to show the world what I can do.”

During his eight seasons with the Green Bay Packers, Davante Adams had 669 catches, 8,121 yards, and 73 touchdowns, including three years with at least 1,374 yards.

Jets Star WR Garrett Wilson Joined Aaron Rodgers in Pitching for Davante Adams Trade

The New York Jets are heading into the 2024 season as a team with Super Bowl aspirations, but that doesn’t mean the work stops in terms of acquiring more star talent.

Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers set the internet ablaze last week when he indicated he would be playing with former Green Bay Packers teammate Davante Adams again.

Rodgers stated, “I love Davante, I can’t wait to play with him… again.”

Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson heard about the rumors and decided to add on to it when he told The New York Post he would love to have Adams on the team.

“I see that. I’m excited. I’m with all of it,” Wilson said Friday at the Garrett Wilson Youth Football Camp in Morristown, N.J. “Anyone we can get into the facility to help this team win games, I’m with it — and he’s one of those.”

Davante Adams Trade To The New York Jets Is Reportedly A “Done Deal,” Reveals NFL Insider

Davante Adams to the New York Jets is a “done deal,” according to ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky.

There is some chatter regarding a potential trade between the Jets and Las Vegas Raiders that would reunite Adams with former Green Bay Packers teammate Aaron Rodgers. And Orlovsky reckons there’s some merit to it given what the wide receiver was heard saying on the new Netflix series, ‘Receiver.’

The former NFL quarterback is of the view that a trade is inevitable and the only thing that would stop it is if Adams feels bad for new head coach Antonio Pierce.

“I think Davante Adams plays for the Jets this season,” he said during ‘Get Up’ on Tuesday. “The reason why I say that is this: Have you watched Netflix, the ‘Receiver’ stuff, have you seen the frustration from Davante Adams? It’s not that much better of a situation (now.) The only reason it wouldn’t happen is if he would feel bad about leaving Antonio Pierce, their new head coach.”

Aaron Rodgers Is Still Trying His Best To Get Davante Adams To Join Him In NY

Adams recently admitted that Rodgers has been in his ear about joining the Jets. But he also urged the Raiders to keep Pierce as head coach following the firing of Josh McDaniels and loves playing for him.

Rodgers also played the role of instigator this past weekend, saying he “can’t wait to play with him again” while referring to Adams at the American Century Championship golf tournament in Lake Tahoe.

Of course, the Jets trading for Davante Adams is easier said than done. The wideout is heading into the third year of a five-year $140 million deal and will make $17.5 million in 2024. The Raiders aren’t letting him leave on the cheap either.
