Davante Adams raises voice to defend Aaron Rodgers with historic message

The partnership between Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers is back in the spotlight, as the pair led the New York Jets to a 21-13 victory over the Houston Texans in Week 9, snapping a five-game losing streak and lifting their season record to 3-6.

Adams took a moment to silence critics on Instagram with a nod to the patience needed for the duo’s chemistry to translate into success.

“S**t, it took a second to get Rome put together too,” he noted.

Stood out on the field

Rodgers connected with Adams on a standout 37-yard touchdown pass during the Thursday night matchup, contributing to a strong performance that saw him complete 22 of 32 passes for 211 yards and three touchdowns.

Adams was equally formidable, with seven catches totaling 91 yards, showing off his natural rapport with Rodgers. After briefly exiting in the second half for a head injury assessment, Adams returned, underscoring his dedication and resilience on the field.

This win offered a decisive response to critics who questioned Adams‘ trade to New York, especially after the Jets’ recent loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, where fans were quick to question the impact of his reunion with Rodgers.

Adams brushed off the doubts, attributing the previous challenges to game conditions and expressing optimism about what he and Rodgers could accomplish together.

“I’m fired up, man. I’m in a bad mood – we lost the game -but I’m still fired up about what this football team can do,” Adams said.
