On Tuesday, it was announced that Donald Trump would become the 47th president of the United States. The NFL has wasted no time ensuring he knows exactly what they want to do.

Of course, in 2020, the Washington Redskins officially rebranded to the Washington Football team, which would eventually become the Washington Commanders.

There is now a demand for Trump to bring the name back to the Redskins, which was their name for 82 years.

Social media has been pouring in with requests for the soon-to-be president, Trump, to take action and change it as soon as possible.

Of course, it would certainly make for interesting development, as it was a huge controversy to change it in the first place.

Donald Trump Likely Doesn’t Have The Power To Do So

Of course, though, Trump does not just have the power to force an ownership group to change their team’s name.

He could suggest the idea, but ultimately, the decision does not rest with him. The future president will also want to address some other major problems first, but anything is possible, so who knows?

The world of politics can be as tumultuous as the octagon, and Dana White has found himself right in the middle of it all. The UFC CEO has always maintained a close relationship with former and now-re-elected President Donald Trump. So when Trump secured his second term in the White House, it was no surprise to see White standing by his side during the victory speech.

Raw honesty and emotion poured out of White’s words as he delivered a speech. The UFC boss, known for his no-nonsense approach, didn’t hold back. His speech was equal parts congratulatory and reflective and it showcased their deep friendship.

“Nobody deserves this more than him, and nobody deserves this more than his family does. This is what happens when the machine comes after you… He’s the most resilient, hardworking man I’ve ever met in my life. His family are incredible people. This is karma, ladies and gentlemen. He deserves this.”

Dana White and Donald Trump’s bond has been forged through years of weathering the storms of public scrutiny and criticism. The UFC CEO knows firsthand the grit it takes to keep pushing forward in the face of the proverbial “machine” coming after you.

As the two men stood side by side, it was clear that their bond went deeper than the typical politician-celebrity relationship. Dana White’s words carried a weight and sincerity that resonated beyond the confines of the victory stage. He was speaking not just as a supporter but as a friend who had weathered the storm alongside Trump.

Dana White Asks Fellow Americans To Do What Is “Best For Their Family”

White and Trump have been allies for years. These two larger-than-life personalities have been going strong since the inception of the UFC. And during the campaign for the 2024 presidential elections, the UFC CEO left no stone unturned to make sure his friend got the highest seat in the country.

So when White took the stage at Trump‘s victory rally in Madison Square Garden, he wasn’t going to hold back. And true to form, the UFC boss delivered a speech that was equal parts praise and provocation. Dana White went on to laud Trump’s track record, from economic growth to border security.

“My fellow Americans, if you want what’s best for your family and this country, you’re gonna vote Donald J Trump as the 47th president of the United States.”

Back in the early days of the UFC, when the sport was still struggling to find its footing. Donald Trump was one of the few who was willing to open his doors and host their events. That kind of loyalty doesn’t just disappear, not for Dana White, at least.
