Jake Paul

The professional boxer Jake Paul vowed to return the United States of America to glory at the 2028 Olympic Games after the nation walked away without a gold and only one medal in Paris, France.

From the American fighters sent to bring gold back to Washington D.C, only Omari Jones could claim bronze in the middleweight division whilst all seven others faced elimination before the semi-final rounds.

Jake Paul stuns the world with big announcement ahead of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games

As a result, Paul made a bold call by insisting he will train to bring back gold when the Olympics heads to the West Coast for the 2028 ‘Games in LA after collecting a 10-1 record as a professional.

“I’m going to enter the 2028 Olympics for boxing in Los Angeles,” Paul told his BS w/ Jake Paul podcast. “I’m sick and tired of waiting around and waiting for another Gold for Team USA.

“I’ve definitely added another couple of years to my boxing career because of that – but Los Angeles, United States, sick as f**k. I’m going to do it, why not?

“2028 Olympics, you heard it here first – gold medal, you’re mine, brother.”

Despite an illustrious history in boxing, one has to go all the way back to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro for the last gold medalist from the United States.

It was when Claressa Shields became a two-time Olympic champion after winning in London 2012 too.

Since 1996, only three golds have been brought back to the USA with the another coming from Andre Ward in 2004 and the eight-year drought will now become a 12-year drought by the time of the opening ceremony at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

Paul is currently busy preparing to face Iron Mike Tyson, as the ex-undisputed heavyweight champion returns to professional boxing, following retirement in 2005, on November 12, 2024 at the AT&T Stadium.

The fight in Arlington, Texas, has been controversially received due to the age gap of almost 30 years between the pair, was initially scheduled for July 20 but had to be delayed when Tyson suffered an ulcer flare up on a flight.
