Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes grabs a high snap...

With just over a month until the NFL regular season kicks off, all teams are already deep into their training camps. As always, we’ve seen the first practices of rookies, veterans with new teams, coaches in fresh environments, players holding out due to contract issues, and even scuffles betweenoffensive and defensive teammates. There’s no doubt the season is drawing near.

Champions Looking Ready

One of the most intriguing teams during training camp is the reigning champions, the Kansas City Chiefs. Their aerial attack, led by Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, along with new receivers Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, and rookie Xavier Worthy, next to Rashee Rice, is poised to push Andy Reid to devise innovative ways to utilize this abundance of talent. This group could potentially break various historical records, just check out this play from today’s practice.

The quadruple play, though unconventional, is a testament to Reid’s willingness to call such bold plays during crucial games. Last season, it was the Chiefs’ defense that kept the team afloat, but now it seems the offense will take on that role. If the new players integrate well, the rest of the league will have a hard time defeating the Chiefs.

Payton Manning‘s records of 5,477 passing yards in a season and 55 passing touchdowns could be in jeopardy with Mahomes at the helm of this dynamic offense. The Chiefs will open the season on Thursday, September 5th, at Arrowhead Stadium against the Baltimore Ravens, in a rematch of last season’s AFC Championship game.
