Having a public lifestyle where every action is judged is part of the life of reality star and business mogul Kim Kardashian signed up for when she became famous. The public, in turn, has zeroed in on minute mistakes by the reality star.
It wasn’t any different when Kim Kardashian took her turn at roasting NFL legend Tom Brady during the live Netflix special The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady. What could have been an embarrassing moment for Kim Kardashian was turned into a class act by the reality star.
Kim Kardashian remained professional when she was booed on stage. She maintained a calm demeanor and hardly moved during the hours-long event. Kim Kardashian has perfected her poker face in the face of scrutiny, despite the trolling and criticism she got, and her fans are equal parts proud and creeped out.
Kim Kardashian Remained Professional After Being Booed At Netflix’s Tom Brady Roast
The booing part was edited out, but not because Kim requested it
Kim Kardashian and a host of friends and former colleagues of Tom Brady were present for Netflix’s first-ever The Greatest Roast of All Time with Kevin Hart as host and Tom Brady, the main attraction of the show, had a team of people coming at him. It all seemed fun, though Tom Brady took some jokes graciously and seemed uncomfortable with others.

Kim Kardashian touched on the rumors of her dating Tom Brady and the football star having similarities to her former stepfather Caitlyn Jenner.
“I wasn’t going to come tonight, but since I’m not here as Tom’s date, there’s still a good chance I might,” Kardashian joked. “Speaking of Tom and I dating, I know there were some rumors that we were, and I’d never say if we did or not. I’d just release the tape.”
Kim’s latest selfie may have seemed innocent, but it sparked a lot of backlash in the comments section.
As her monologue continued, she got loud boos from the audience several times.
Kim Kardashian powered through her set and finished. She sat back and stayed silent throughout the rest of the show, not even budging in her seat as more jokes were told and she got roasted by Tom Brady for her leaving her kids with her ex Kanye “Ye” West.
Although Kim did not request for the booed part to be edited out, Netflix decided it was best to cut the part out of the streamed version.
Robbie Praw, VP of stand-up and comedy formats at Netflix, told The Hollywood Reporter: “Post edits are standard practice for comedy specials and happen in live broadcasts, whether that’s subtitles, adding things or removing things that we can’t do when it’s streaming live. It’s part of, quite frankly, the fun of watching it live to not miss those things. But I will just say this, in addition to that, that no talent was consulted as part of that.”
The decision to edit the booing of the audience was only to keep the content clean — no fault in that — but Kim Kardashian not requesting to let the part be edited showed she handled the situation during and after with class.
Fans Praised Kim For Powering Through The Jeers
Fans who watched the live roast felt uncomfortable for Kim as she was booed
Tom Brady’s three-hour Roast on Netflix pulled in millions of live watchers, which means many got to see Kim Kardashian booed. However, fans had nothing but admiration for Kim as she continued with her set.
InstarWhile some commenters on the event thought Kim’s behavior was robotic and creepy, others praised her. A fan wrote: “She took it like a champ. Honestly, I don’t know how she deals with the hate. Probably just laughing all the way to the bank.”
Some fans noted that Kim Kardashian must be built stronger than she looks. “Kim is built differently because most people can’t take this! I think this was not her audience, and they still see the Kardashians as being lame.”
Another fan said she missed an opportunity to call out Swifties (Taylor Swift’s fans) for the boos.
“She should have been prepared for it. ‘Sounds like we’ve got a lot of Swifties in the audience tonight.’ Guarantee that would have pulled the laughs, and then she could start her set,” a fan wrote.
Kim had a subtle way of referencing Taylor’s diss tracks when she posted a photo with one of the singer’s nemeses.
Swifties bullied Kim Kardashian online because they were convinced Taylor Swift’s new album had diss tracks targeted at Kim. Kim Kardashian responded to the song, saying Taylor should be over it by now, which got more of Taylor’s fans riled up and trolling Kim on social media.
Many more praised the mom of four for sitting back down and powering through the rest of the roast. In what fans recognize as an unfair moment for Kim Kardashian, they praised her for being unfazed by the boos, a sign of her professionalism and decades in the industry.
Kim Kardashian Is Often Criticized (But She Has A Secret To Dealing With Haters)
Kim has developed thick skin against the harsh criticisms and public outcries
via: InstarNot new to Hollywood’s vicious cycle, Kim Kardashian has been criticized, trolled, and insulted for everything that has to do with her. From her body to her business principles to how she dresses, her relationships, her parenting style to aging — nothing is above scrutiny when it comes to the reality TV star.
People online slammed Kim Kardashian for choosing to wear an outfit that was so painful, setting impossible beauty standards.
Regardless, Kim Kardashian found a foolproof way to deal with all the harsh criticisms from haters. “I always think, ‘Will I be affected by this tomorrow? Will I be affected by it in a week?'” Kardashian said. “‘Will I be affected by it in a month, and in a year?’ And usually, the answer is no.”
Kim Kardashian has also developed a thick skin because the attention is just for a while. It is not as constant as people think.
This means Kim ends up taking the high road most of the time. However, Kim Kardashian said the criticism has gotten easier to deal with, thanks to her family.
“It has gotten easier ‘cause I think you just get to a level where you see that so much of it is noise, and we have each other, we have us as a support system,” Kim said. “I couldn’t do it without my family.”
Kim further explained, “Just because when there’s maybe a little too much noise, everyone’s there just to be like, ‘OK, we know what’s real. We know what’s happening. That doesn’t matter. Let’s all just come back to what we know, and that’s each other.’ And I feel so grateful that we had all of those experiences at the same time, so we can really lean on each other.”
