NFL players are some of the wealthiest people on planet Earth, and most like to make very outlandish purchases to show off the money they’re making while achieving their lifelong dreams.

Not all NFL players are all about showing it all off, though. For example, Justin Jefferson was recently mentioned after he continued to live in his $400,000 home after becoming the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.

And now, Justin Fields has joined the list of NFL players who don’t spend money to flaunt their wealth. In an interview with @GOATfarmmedia, he recently revealed that he only buys cheap jewelry from Amazon.

While some NFL fans may question his decision, there’s no doubt that the Steelers signal-caller has made a very smart financial decision, and some of the feedback has been pretty positive, praising Fields for his efforts.

Justin Fields Only Buys Jewelry Off Amazon

The former Chicago Bears QB1 pointed out that “it all shines the same,” which had some fans calling the 11th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft smart for his off-the-field purchases so far through his young career.

Another fan even added that the fake jewelry looks no different than the real stuff, and no one would expect anything because Fields has made just over $15.5 million in career earnings so far.

One fan even said they’re massive fans of the Steelers’ new and assumed QB2 after stating that the move is “smart, and no one should shame him for this.”

While most of what Fields buys off the field shouldn’t affect how the quarterback plays, having fake jewelry may be an indicator of his mental maturity, and it could speak to how he decides to play things on the field. It may be a stretch, but we’ll have to wait and see when Fields gets his first action with the Steelers in 2024.

New Report Details Strange Concern About QB Justin Fields That Could Become A Serious Problem For The Pittsburgh Steelers

A new report has emerged detailing some issues the Pittsburgh Steelers may encounter with quarterback Justin Fields and his camp this season.

The Steelers acquired Justin Fields from the Chicago Bears in exchange for a late-round pick, weeks before they used the No. 1 selection in 2024 on USC quarterback Caleb Williams. The trade for Fields came soon after Pittsburgh signed ex-Denver Bronco Russell Wilson in free agency.

After the Fields trade, head coach Mike Tomlin said that Wilson would be the team’s starting quarterback. By all accounts, the 35-year-old Wilson has been the better quarterback in offseason activities and has a stranglehold on the starting job.

But according to a new report, Fields’ agent is trying to convince others that the QB1 battle with Wilson is close.

Speaking on 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh, Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that Fields’ agent is giving information “to the national reporters” to bolster his market for 2025 free agency:

“A lot of it has to do with agents and what they feed to the national reporters. I think Justin Fields’ agent wants people to believe that Justin is in this and that he’s still a viable quarterback on the open market.

Whatever happens this year, whether he’s sitting on the bench all season I think his agent wants to keep his name hot. It’s only natural for your rep to do this. Part of this is on the Steelers too, right? Because (Wilson and Fields) are both only signed to one-year contracts.”

 

Assuming there is no legitimate competition for the starting quarterback job, this could become a problem for the Steelers. The last thing they need is Justin Fields’ agent getting involved and spreading rumors about his client’s chances of taking the QB1 job away from Wilson.

Starting Russell Wilson Over Justin Fields Is The Right Call

In what was considered another “down year” for the nine-time Pro Bowler, Wilson still completed 66.4 percent of pass attempts for 3,070 yards, 26 touchdowns and only eight interceptions.

Fields, on the other hand, has struggled with consistency over his first three seasons. He had his best season as a passer in 2023, but Fields only threw for 2,562 yards and 16 touchdowns against nine interceptions.

Wilson may not be in his prime anymore, but he was still a solid option on a retooling Denver team that didn’t give him the best supporting cast. Put him on Pittsburgh’ star-studded offense with a future Hall of Famer at head coach, and it’s not a stretch to think he could win Comeback Player of the Year honos.
