NFL fans are praying for Las Vegas Raiders tight end Michael Mayer after concerning personal life news emerged.

Per The Athletic’s Vic Tafur, Michael Mayer will miss the Raiders’ next four games after being placed on the reserve/non-football illness list with a personal matter. Further details have not been disclosed.

The second-year tight end missed the Raiders’ last two games because of the personal matter. Over his first three games this season, the 23-year-old Mayer has four receptions for 21 yards.

NFL fans came together to offer prayers and messages of support for Michael Mayer following the concerning announcement:

Widely regarded as the top tight end in the 2023 NFL Draft, Mayer was drafted in the second round (35th overall) by the Raiders. He wound up being the third TE taken, behind Dalton Kincaid (25th overall to the Buffalo Bills) and Sam LaPorta (34th to the Detroit Lions).

Michael Mayer saw limited action in his rookie season, hauling in 27 catches for 304 yards and two touchdowns. In each of his last two seasons at Notre Dame, he eclipsed the 60-catch and 800-yard marks.

The Raiders addressed the tight end position again by drafting can’t-miss Georgia star Brock Bowers with the No. 13 pick. Over his first five games of 2024, Bowers has 28 catches for 313 yards and a touchdown.

Las Vegas will try and get back to .500 when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday afternoon. Mayer will be eligible to return in Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins.

Michael Mayer & Brock Bowers Could Be A Dangerous Duo

If the Raiders can address their quarterback situation and find a true starting-caliber signal-caller, then Michael Mayer and Brock Bowers could develop into an elite pass-catching tandem.

Gardner Minshew II and Aidan O’Connell have yet to prove they can be a suitable long-term answer behind center. Until then, Bowers and company will just have to make do with what they have.

Kay Adams Drops Massive Hint On Social Media That Blockbuster Davante Adams Trade Is Going Down Today, And NFL Fans Are Freaking Out Over It

Davante Adams is expected to be traded, and one of his latest moves is thought to be an indicator of it happening sooner rather than later, given that he’s canceled a particular appearance originally scheduled for this week.

The Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver is a regular on the ‘Up & Adams’ show, which is quite fitting. He was scheduled to make another appearance this Tuesday but won’t be around, which suggests that a deal could be in the works.

Host Kay Adams announced as much on Wednesday, noting that “a lot” was going on where the star wideout was concerned.

“Oh boy – lots happening at the moment with our guy Adams,” the former NFL Network personality wrote. “… he won’t be on TOMORROW. Sorry bout that, and stay tuned.”

The Raiders Want A Second-Round Pick For Davante Adams

Adams is available for trade in the wake of a request to be moved. While the Raiders ended last season on a high note, and he was one of the players who advocated for Antonio Pierce to be retained, the wideout isn’t happy with the start the team has gotten off to this term.

The Raiders are reportedly looking for a second-round pick and additional compensation in exchange for the six-time Pro Bowler.

The New Orleans Saints and New York Jets have both been linked amid rife speculation. Either move would reunite the WR with a former quarterback teammate (Derek Carr or Aaron Rodgers). However, other franchises, more so the Pittsburgh Steelers, are believed to be monitoring the situation.

It was reported that teams were put off by the asking price, with insider Jordan Schultz claiming on Monday that the demands were “unrealistic,” considering Adams’ salary.

However, it appears that might not be the case after all, given the canceled interview.
