A massive NFL schedule change has been made, for Week 8.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the NFL schedule is undergoing a major shake-up for Week 8. The Washington Commanders-Chicago Bears game has been moved to the late afternoon 4:25 p.m. EST slot, with the Philadelphia Eagles-Cincinnati Bengals contest being bumped up to 1:00 p.m. EST.

Additionally, CBS’ top commentary team of Jim Nantz and Tony Romo will call for the first meeting between Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels, the first two picks in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Eagles-Bengals game looked like a marquee matchup at the start of the season, but Joe Burrow’s squad is off to a disappointing 2-4 start. This game could still be a dandy, but it’s safe to assume that most fans are happy with the Week 8 NFL schedule change.

Nantz and Romo also called the Commanders’ Week 6 road game against the Baltimore Ravens, which Lamar Jackson and company won 30-23.

Daniels and the Commanders have been a pleasant surprise early in the season, entering Week 7 with a 4-2 record that has them atop the NFC East. Williams and the Bears sit in a playoff position with a 4-2 record, having won their last three games.

Week 8 NFL Schedule Has Several Enticing Games

Aside from the Bengals-Eagles and Commanders-Bears games, several other Week 8 matchups bear watching. The Atlanta Falcons will visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a game that could ultimately determine the NFC South, with Kirk Cousins’ group winning the first meeting back in Week 5.

The Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers will meet on “Sunday Night Football” at Levi’s Stadium. Dallas is on a bye week, and pressure is mounting for Mike McCarthy’s group to turn things around after a humiliating 47-9 home loss to the Detroit Lions.

The Chicago Bears entered today’s game with a 3-2 record after winning their last two games against the Los Angeles Rams and Carolina Panthers. Their recent success largely has to do with the improved play of 2024 first-overall pick Caleb Williams.
