Noah Lyles won a silver medal in the 200m while battling COVID-19

Noah Lyles has been on a journey at the 2024 Paris Olympics. After the high of his gold medal heroics and the low of collapsing in the 200m final, he now finds himself as the villain among many fans, and this video of him partying in a Paris night club won’t do him any favors.

Just hours after posting a negative COVID test result, Lyles hit the L’Arc Club in Paris to celebrate Team USA‘s gold medal in basketball. But he was deemed healthy, so what was the issue?

Noah Lyles Olympics controversy

“Noah lyles didn’t have Covid when he won the 100 but suddenly did when he lost the 200 now he’s in the club dancing lmao im crying,” remarked a user on X, formerly Twitter.

His dramatic arc at the Olympic Games seemed to rub a lot of people the wrong way. He and his mother played the victim over his unexpected 200m performance, despite being as braggadocious as ever when he won gold in the 100m.

There was also the controversy of his infamous “world champion” remarks that caused tension with many Team USA basketball players and earned a sassy post from USA Basketball on social media after they buried France in the gold medal match.

Much like his COVID diagnosis, those problems didn’t seem to last, either. He was surprisingly quick to celebrate Team USA becoming the Olympic Champions on Saturday night in Paris. But first he made sure to let his 1.5 million Instagram followers know he was in the clear by posting a photo of his negative COVID test.

“bro dropped that negative Covid test on his page so he can go party and nobody look at him funny,” said a popular post on X with the video.

Crazy night in Paris

Lyles wasn’t the only one in hot water at L’Arc Paris that night. LeBron James came under fire for his rude interaction with a young fan, Stephen Curry’s family got harrassed by the police, and Jake Paul even joined the party before stumbling out and almost faceplanting on the concrete.
