Patrick Mahomes, the star quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, balances his on-field life with a devoted role at home. Now expecting his third child with his wife Brittany, the 29-year-old star has shared how fatherhood has transformed him.
Though he once imagined himself raising boys, the arrival of his first daughter, Sterling Skye, shifted his outlook completely. Mahomes has expressed that having a daughter first was exactly what he needed, helping him grow and embrace his role as a protector for his family.
“Growing I wanted to have a boy 1st, then I had a girl & it’s like God knew exactly what to do with me,” he said in an interview with Tom Brady on NFL on Fox.
“He helped me mature as a man, it’s a different bond with a daughter because you’ve got to be that protector.”
Off the field, Mahomes makes family time a top priority, eagerly reconnecting with Brittany and their children as soon as he leaves the stadium. This strong commitment to family resonates with fans, who often admire his dedication to balancing both family and career.
Expecting a third child
In July, the Mahomes family celebrated the gender reveal for their third child, with Sterling helping to reveal that they’re expecting another daughter. The event was a joyful occasion, further highlighting Mahomes‘ excitement about expanding his family.
Some have raised eyebrows at Mahomes choosing to grow his family so early in his career, but he’s confident in his path.
