A longtime ESPN employee has reportedly passed away ahead of the holidays. Zach Jones, a manager who worked in the Stats & Information department at The Worldwide Leader in Sports, is dead at 41, having journeyed on this past Sunday.
Jones had been with ESPN for nearly 15 years but has lost a battle to cancer, which prevented him from seeing out the year.
SportsCenter host Kevin Neghandi shared the news on social media on Monday in a heartwarming post in which he also slammed the deadly disease.
“May you rest in peace Zach. A devoted dad who loved golf, the Chargers and his family. He was a fantastic researcher and had the perfect demeanor for TV. He will be missed by so many. Sending all of our love to his wife, son and their family. F*ck cancer,” he wrote.

“You may have never seen him on your screens, but you saw his work,” Scott said.
“He got married here, he started a family here,” Scott continued while fighting through tears. “The Stanford graduate loved the Cardinal, and he loved golf. He loved his wife, Amber, and he loved his son, Silas, who turned 10 last month. And he lost his dad three days before Christmas.
“He fought like hell; he gets to rest now.”

VIDEO: Fans Are Sure Someone’s Getting Fired After ESPN Commentator Blurts Out Wildly Inappropriate Sexual Comment During Tennessee-Ohio State Playoff Game
Social media is sure someone’s getting fired from ESPN following an inappropriate comment during coverage of the Tennessee-Ohio State game on Saturday night.
Fans had the option of tuning into Pat McAfee’s ‘Field Pass’ on the night, and the ones who did were treated to something exceedingly wild. Surprisingly, McAfee wasn’t the one who made the comment.
With the Buckeyes leading the Volunteers 21-0 early in the second quarter, the commentators chose to discuss an Ohio State superfan.
“Thick Nut, a.k.a. Slim Nut, is busting his nut all over their face because he is partying in front of them right now,” Boston Connor was heard saying, drawing an “Ayo” from someone else.
