NFL Hall of Famer and ESPN host Shannon Sharpe has apologized after he mistakenly live-streamed a sex act on his Instagram account, but what does his employer think about it?

Sharpe – who won three Super Bowls during his 14-year career – accidentally went live on Instagram on Wednesday and was heard having sex with an unknown woman.

The video did not depict the intimate act.

That may be the reason why ESPN made their decision on him.

According to TMZ Sports, ESPN is not expected to discipline Shannon Sharpe for going live on Instagram and having sex with a woman.

He was noticeably absent from First Take on Thursday, but that has nothing to do with what happened.

“A source at the network tells us … Sharpe’s absence from Thursday’s “First Take” had nothing to do with what went down on his Instagram some 24 hours ago — as his usual days off are Thursdays and Fridays.”

This is great news for Sharpe and the Worldwide Leader In Sports, as they have a lot of stake in the Hall of Famer.

ESPN Previously Agreed To Multi-Year Contract With Shannon Sharpe

In June of this year, ESPN agreed to a multi-year contract with the Pro Football Hall of Famer and three-time Super Bowl champion.

Shannon Sharpe is blazing the media world with Club Shay Shay, The Nightcap, and First Take on ESPN with Stephen A. Smith.

He retired from the NFL with 815 receptions, 10,060 receiving yards, and 62 touchdowns.

“Being a part of this family has been a blessing,” Sharpe said. “Everything about this relationship with ESPN, Stephen A., and First Take has been tremendous. I look forward to expanding my role and showing more of the world what I have to offer. The show goes on!”

The NFL honored him as an NFL 1990s All-Decade Team member.

NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe is making the most of his post-retirement career as a sports analyst and television personality. On Wednesday, the former Denver Broncos tight end caused a stir on social media with his leaked Instagram live video while having sexual intercourse. Former Los Angeles Lakers star Dwight Howard is one of the ex-NBA players who reacted to the incident.

Sharpe went live on Instagram and was heard involved in a sexual activity with an unknown woman. The ESPN analyst’s voice can be heard in the live video, but his face was not visible.

Howard, who plays for the Taiwan Mustangs in the Asian Tournament, couldn’t refrain from commenting on the incident. Known for his hilarious social media videos, the former NBA center took to X and revealed why Sharpe had staged the incident. The 2010 NBA champion wrote, “He staged that for views.”

Did Shannon Sharpe Stage His IG Live Incident?

After the incident, Sharpe’s X account claimed that his Instagram had been hacked. However, in the ‘Nightcap’ podcast, Sharpe told Chad Johnson that his account was not hacked, and his carelessness caused the embarrassment.

The sports analyst apologized to his children and close ones for the “embarrassing” incident. Sharpe claimed that it was not staged and that he was unfamiliar with Instagram Live. He said, “This was not staged. I came in, I threw my phone on the bed, engaged in an activity. I did not know IG Live. I’ve never been on IG Live. I’ve never turned IG Live on, so I don’t know how it works.”

Many fans agreed with Dwight Howard that the former tight end staged the controversy to get views, while a few expressed support for Shannon Sharpe in the comments section. Apart from Howard, Gilbert Arenas also reacted to the incident, taking a shot at the former Denver Broncos star.
