Even though it’s been five weeks since his last NFL star, there’s reportedly considerable interest in Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young as the Nov. 5 trade deadline inches closer.

Bryce Young was benched in favor of Andy Dalton after the Panthers opened their season with back-to-back blowout losses. The first overall pick of 2023 also saw limited action in garbage time against the Chicago Bears and Washington Commanders in Weeks 5 and 7, respectively.

Carolina head coach Dave Canales already confirmed that Dalton remains the team’s starter after Sunday’s 40-7 road loss to Washington. Based on a new report, it appears that Young will eventually get the fresh start he sorely needs.

Speaking on the latest edition of “Scoop City”, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports that teams contacted the Panthers about Bryce Young’s availability after he was benched for Dalton.

“So, I think there’s a lot of coaches and GMS out there kinda licking their chops, going ‘Hmm, maybe we can do something with him,” Russini said. “The Panthers weren’t the only team that had Bryce Young as No. 1 (in the 2023 NFL Draft).”

Russini shared a conversation that she recently had with someone who coached Young. The NFL insider asked if they think Young can revive his career after the nightmare tenure in Carolina, and the coach firmly believes so if he’s put in the right situation.

Over his first two seasons (20 total game appearances) Young is 2-16 as a starter with a 59.5 completion percentage for 11 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Then again, career revivals for ex-Panthers QBs Baker Mayfield (in Tampa Bay) and Sam Darnold (Minnesota Vikings) show that Young could easily save his career if he gets out of the QB graveyard in Carolina.

Teams That Should Consider Trading For Bryce Young

Looking around the league, the Las Vegas Raiders, Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns feel like ideal landing spots for Young. They have terrible situations at quarterback and may as well roll the dice on Young, before deciding if they want to draft a quarterback early in 2025.

The New York Giants will likely cut ties with Daniel Jones in the offseason, so maybe Brian Daboll would like the chance to rebuild Bryce Young. Or maybe the Los Angeles Rams want to line up a succession plan for Matthew Stafford.

The NBA regular season is just around the corner. Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors are set to kick things off against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday.

Before the highly anticipated opener, Curry made a special appearance on ESPN’s Monday Night Football during Week 7, where he joined Scott Van Pelt for a halftime segment. During his time on the show, Curry took the opportunity to show support for the Carolina Panthers, his hometown team.

Absolutely. Go Panthers!” Curry said.

The Panthers have faced a challenging year after deciding to bench Bryce Young. As of Week 7, the Panthers have lost four straight games and have managed only one win.

Despite the team’s tough times, Curry, the longest-tenured Warriors star, remains loyal to his hometown team. His support shines through, even in difficult moments. Van Pelt, however, couldn’t resist teasing the Warriors star, replying with, “Good luck with that.”

Stephen Curry’s Former Teammate Heaped High Praise On Curry

Stephen Curry’s former teammate, Kelly Oubre Jr., recently shared his admiration for the superstar on Paul George’s podcast, Podcast P. During his appearance, Oubre praised Curry for his kindness and impact on his career.

Steph is just one of those people who is a great human being, and that made me want to get back better, faster in a sense, because I didn’t know I reached him like that when I was there to be honest with you,” Oubre said.

Kelly Oubre spent just one season with the Golden State Warriors after being acquired in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2020. During his time with the team, he played 55 games alongside Curry, averaging 15.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.
