New Orleans Saints star running back Alvin Kamara didn’t hold back his honest feelings following the team’s fifth straight loss, the latest an ugly 33-10 home defeat at the hands of the Denver Broncos on “Thursday Night Football.”
The banged-up Saints came into this game without starting quarterback Derek Carr and their top two receivers, Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed. Still, few could have expected Alvin Kamara and company to lose soundly to an inconsistent Denver team that had been held to under 20 points in four of their last five games.
Thursday’s game was essentially over by the early stages of the fourth quarter, prompting many New Orleans fans to head to the exits early. One could understand why that would disappoint a beloved veteran player like Kamara, but he sided with the fans in this one.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Kamara said he would have done the same thing as a fan, per Jeff Nowak of WWL Radio.
“I get it,” Kamara said. “I would leave, too.”
Playing behind a depleted offensive line, Alvin Kamara mustered just 10 rushing yards on seven carries and six catches for 14 yards. New Orleans’ only TD came in garbage time, with third-stringer Jake Haener throwing a late TD to Cedrick Wilson Jr.

The Saints jumped out to a strong 2-0 start that featured 47-10 and 44-19 victories over the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos, respectively. After dropping consecutive one-score games to fall to 2-2, New Orleans has now been outscored by double-digit points in the last three games.
Alvin Kamara Has Been One Of Saints’ Few Consistent Performers
It’s hard not to feel for Saints veterans like Alvin Kamara, Cameron Jordan, Demario Davis, Tyrann Mathieu and Mashon Lattimore. These guys used to play on championship-caliber teams, but now they’re stuck on a 2-5 team with no signs of improvement.
The Saints would be wise to trade as many veterans as possible ahead of the Nov. 5 deadline. That should include Kamara, who didn’t get the reworked contract he sought in the offseason.
VIDEO: Lip Readers On Social Media Think They Detected The Angry Message Saints QB Spencer Rattler Had For HC Dennis Allen During Blowout Loss To Broncos On TNF
Lip readers on social media believe they detected the message New Orleans Saints rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler had for head coach Dennis Allen during the team’s humiliating home loss to the Denver Broncos on “Thursday Night Football.”
On the night the Saints honored Drew Brees by inducting him into their Hall of Fame, the NFC South club put up one of the most humiliating performances in franchise history, losing 33-10 on their home field. Spencer Rattler never stood a chance without star wide receivers Rashid Shaheed, Chris Olave and a banged-up offensive line, taking six sacks and failing to throw a single touchdown in the loss.
Understandably, even Rattler had a tough time bottling up his frustration in Thursday’s ugly defeat. For some reason, Allen called a timeout with four seconds remaining in the first half after Rattler completed a pass to Alvin Kamara at the Saints’ 36-yard line:
So Allen called a timeout just to run a kneel-down to close out the half. And fans believe they’ve figured out what Spencer Rattler had to say to his head coach following the baffling call:
It’s impossible to comprehend why Allen called his timeout at that point, especially given his team’s performance. Usually, a coach in that situation wants to take it right to the half and get his group refreshed.
Spencer Rattler Can’t Be Blamed For The Loss
Rattler made his first NFL start against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday and had minimal time to prepare for a stingy Broncos defense on a short week. Without his two best receivers, Rattler hardly had a chance, to say nothing of a Saints defense that didn’t show up whatsoever.
