Breanna Stewart and Jackie Young had already scored double digits at that point, and the USA continued from there, piling on the outmatched Australians in the second half.

The last time Team USA lost at the Olympics was back in Barcelona in 1992. Since then they have been unstoppable, and will look to claim an eighth consecutive gold medal against the winner of France and Belgium on Sunday.

While the USA were only up by four after the first quarter, that figure ballooned in the second when they outscored Australia by 18, thanks in large part to a 12-0 run that saw Kahleah Copper, Sabrina Ionescu and Jewell Loyd all hit 3-pointers.

The lead grew to over 20 in the third, and the USA then entered cruise control from there to close out what was a one-sided contest.
