Travis Kelce

Travis Kelce returns to the second love of his life by taking to the Kansas City Chiefs‘ training camp of the year as he reunites with Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes following time in Europe with Taylor Swift.

The 34-year-old has made the most of his offseason by heading around the globe to spend time with his woman as she continues on her Eras Tour by visiting Singapore, Australia, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands to name a few.

Fans have criticized Swift‘s impact on Kelce’s life and when he struggled for form in 2023, the pop star was pointed as a source of blame to his inability to catch the ball as consistently as yesteryear but Reid dismissed this suggestion.

“He can handle it,” Reid told media of Kelce‘s relationship. “As a matter of fact, I think he probably loves it to a point. I think there’s a great escape for him.”

But in July, football duties come calling and he must begin to get mentally and physically back in shape to make those crucial receiving yards through the NFL season as he chases an unprecedented third Super Bowl ring in a row and a career fourth at the Arrowhead Stadium.

The Chiefs kicked off their training camp at the Western State University in St. Joseph, although senior personnel such as Kelce didn’t need to report early on as Reid sizes up the newbies they’ve welcomed such as Louis Rees-Zammit and Kyle Sheets.

Kelce’s high targets for the NFL season

Kelce and the Chiefs‘ first full-team practice is scheduled for Sunday, July 21 meaning the tight end has had to leave Europe to head back to the United States for the session, which will be open to the public, with preseason due on the horizon in early August.

The tight end is not keen to settle for three career rings either as he immediately sets Patrick Mahomes and his colleagues a high bar as they announce their quest for a fourth Super Bowl win to the rest of the NFL.

“The goal [has] always been to get three,” Kelce said back in Las Vegas after they defeated the San Francisco 49ers. “Believe it, baby, we’re gonna be here next year.”
