The season for the back-to-back champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, has started just as their fans expected, winning their first six games for the first time in the Mahomes era for the third time in their history, in the other two seasons (2003-2013) they lost until the 10th game, and this season 10th game will be against the Buffalo Bills in Highmark Stadium in Buffalo and their next two games are winnable, more now with Deandre Hopkins in the only undefeated team.
Travis Kelce Credits “Magic” Mustache Amid Subpar Season
Travis Kelce hasn’t changed a bit from last season, so fans are wondering what could be the reason for his lack of production. In fact, in an interview with People, he mentioned that his mustache is the “magic” that begins to take shape just before the start of a new NFL season and stays in place for the 18-plus weeks that follow. Kelce, 35, told People that the mustache move is strategic. “I grow the mustache out every training camp, or at least I have for the last three or four years because we’ve been making these title runs in honor of coach Andy Reid,‘ he says. He is the walrus!
The arrival of Hopkins will take some defensive attention away from Travis Kelce, who is having a very poor season by his standards. Kelce has 28 receptions for 245 yards in six games, with no touchdowns and no games of over 90 yards. His best game this year was against the New Orleans Saints, where he had 9 catches for 70 yards and the Chiefs earned their biggest win of the season (13 points). We don’t know what’s going on with Kelce or why he hasn’t exploded this season, but if the team keeps winning, I don’t think he’ll mind.
Chiefs Seek Franchise Best Start as Raiders Game Adds Extra Tension
With their bye week now behind them, the Chiefs face a grueling 12-game stretch to end the season. First, the Chiefs will close out the month on the road against the Las Vegas Raiders. The game will have a special flavor because of what happened in the offseason when a Raiders player mocked Mahomes for having a voice similar to Kermit the Frog. Then they start November at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and then at the Denver Broncos, so the Chiefs could tie the franchise’s best start to a season (9-0). The big test for the 10-0 would be in Buffalo.
