Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce quietly showed his support for girlfriend Taylor Swift after she acknowledged him during her acceptance speech at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards.
While Kelce couldn’t attend the event due to football commitments, he “liked” an Instagram video posted by MTV, where Swift gave him a special mention after winning the Video of the Year award at UBS Arena in New York.
During her speech, Swift, 34, sent fans into a frenzy by publicly calling Kelce her “boyfriend” for the first time. She fondly recalled hearing cheers while shooting her “Fortnight” music video.
Swift’s Historic Night and Kelce’s Support from Afar
Although Kelce had to stay in Kansas City for practice ahead of the Chiefs’ game against the Cincinnati Bengals, he continued to cheer for Swift from a distance.
On his New Heights podcast, he encouraged her to “stay on top,” further showing his admiration for her achievements.

Swift had a record-breaking night, winning seven awards and making history as the artist with the most VMA wins, with 30 awards to her name.
She graced the red carpet in a stunning Dior yellow-and-black plaid bustier and skirt, later changing into a silver sequin dress with a UFO graphic after accepting her first award for Best Collaboration with Post Malone for the song “Fortnight.”
Throughout the night, Swift appeared to be in high spirits, dancing during Katy Perry’s performance and taking photos with fellow artists.
