Cameras caught Cleveland Browns quarterback Jameis Winston running down to speak to Kansas City Chiefs signal-caller Patrick Mahomes following Sunday afternoon’s game at Huntington Bank Field.

Jameis Winston had a frustrating day in Sunday’s 21-7 home loss to the defending Super Bowl champions, completing 16 of 25 pass attempts for 146 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions.

Despite the loss, Winston was gracious in defeat and made an effort to find Mahomes and speak to him after the game. A fan in attendance shared the video of the two quarterbacks briefly speaking:

Jameis Winston was benched in favor of Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who went 4-of-9 for 18 yards and an interception. As for Mahomes, he finished with a pedestrian 159 yards on 38 attempts, with two touchdowns and no picks.

Browns Haven’t Made A Decision On Jameis Winston

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski has yet to announce a starting quarterback for Week 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Ultimately, it would be a surprise if Stefanski went with the unproven Thompson-Robinson over the guy who threw for 497 yards against a stingy Denver Broncos defense two weeks ago.

The Kansas City Chiefs have waived fan favorite and three-time Super Bowl champion-winning running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire in a surprise move.

On Monday afternoon, Clyde Edwards-Helaire bid farewell to the Chiefs in an emotional X/Twitter post. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero confirmed that CEH has been waived by the defending Super Bowl champions.

Edwards-Helaire was brought back by the Chiefs on a one-year deal in the offseason, after they declined the fifth-year option on his rookie deal. But the 2020 first-round pick hasn’t seen any playing time this year, with Kareem Hunt emerging as the RB1 during Isiah Pacheco’s recovery from a leg injury.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire rushed for 1,845 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four seasons with the Chiefs, to go along with 89 receptions for 765 yards and seven rushing touchdowns. He helped them to consecutive Super Bowl championships in the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire Needed A Fresh Start

The Chiefs offense has been inconsistent this season, but the Hunt-Pacheco rushing duo will play a vital role in their bid for a three-peat. With no role for CEH, it was only fair for him to get waived and explore opportunities elsewhere.
