What happened with Justin Herbert during his game against the New Orleans Saints is why the league has to protect them so much.

On Sunday, Saints defensive end Nathan Shepherd could be seen holding onto the Chargers quarterback by his right leg well after he had gotten rid of the ball.

Nathan Shepherd then gator rolled his leg until he fell onto the turf.

While Justin Herbert waited for a flag, his teammate, center Bradley Bozeman, saw what was happening and came in to destroy Shepherd for what he did.

Nathan Shepherd and Bradley Bozeman would both be flagged.

The Saints defensive end is sure to be fined after this game.

A longer video shows that Bradley Bozeman may have been choking Shephard after what he did to Justin Herbert.

Justin Herbert Is Quietly Having An MVP Season

A lot of people are not paying attention to the Chargers due to their 3-3 record.

Well, they should be paying attention to what Justin Herbert is doing.

This year, Herbert has thrown for 1,164 yards (194 per game), going 107-for-164 (65.2%) and recording six TDs with one pick going into Sunday’s game against the Saints.

If the team can reel off some consecutive wins, Herbert has a case for being in that MVP conversation.

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert completed 37 of his 57 pass attempts for 238 yards and one interception in the overtime victory over the Denver Broncos. This was a low-scoring affair in which both AFC West teams struggled to find the end zone, but seeing Herbert finish with zero touchdowns is certainly a surprise.

Herbert will look to find the end zone when they face the Seahawks at SoFi Stadium.
