The Philadelphia Eagles had to continue their game against the Washington Commanders without CJ Gardner-Johnson after he was ejected from the game.

Gardner-Johnson may have been gone, but he certainly did not stay silent.

The safety committed two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, both during commercial breaks, which resulted in his removal from the game.

While the game was still going on, CJ Gardner-Johnson went live on Instagram and forcefully stated, “F–k them refs.”

“Them refs wanted me out of the game. I ain’t do sh-t anyway. Yall know I ain’t do sh-t,” he stated.

The Eagles’ safety needs to control his emotions better, as he was greatly missed in the second half.

His absence was costly as the Commanders scored 22 points in the fourth quarter to walk away with a 36-33 win that prevented the Eagles from clinching the NFC East title.

Gardner-Johnson had three interceptions, a forced fumble, and 57 total tackles for the Eagles this season coming into the game against the Commanders.

He had one tackle and one interception against the Commanders.

Gardner-Johnson has started all 15 games this year and is one of the most important members of the defense.

Philadelphia Eagles defensive back received a second unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the second half and was kicked out of the game as his team was forced to play Washington without him.

He responded to the incident on X.

“Respectfully got kicked out for nothing, I play with passion and fire!! Guys was chirping all day what u expect !!” he wrote.

The last thing the Eagles want to see is Jalen Hurts going down with an injury.

The team is in Landover, Maryland, taking on the Washington Commanders on Sunday.

In the first quarter, Hurts took off out of the pocket for some yards with his feet.

However, he did not go down right away. He dove forward and took a hit that slammed his head on the turf.

Jalen Hurts appeared to be unconscious for a few seconds as teammates had to help him up. The referees did not notice it, but a spotter did, forcing him off the field.

He would eventually go back to the locker room and get evaluated for a concussion.

Hurts has passed for 2,892 yards (206.6 per game), completing 69.2% of his passes, with 18 TDs and five INTs.

Jalen Hurts Trying To Will His Team To A First Round Bye

Jalen Hurts being hurt with a possible concussion couldn’t have come at a worse time.

It would seem like everything fell the Eagles’ way after they beat the Steelers last Sunday, while the Detroit Lions lost to the Buffalo Bills.

That created a three-way tie for the top spot in the NFC. The Eagles, Lions, and Vikings are all 12-2 with three games remaining.

Hurts being hurt and possibly out for any time would drastically hurt the team’s chances of securing that bye week which is very important.
