Former New York Giants star linebacker Carl Banks was caught ripping on rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers during a hot mic mishap on television.
Malik Nabers made headlines on Sunday when he expressed frustration with his involvement in the Giants’ sluggish offense after their 30-7 home loss at the hands of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He finished the day with six catches for 64 yards.
Sunday’s blowout loss was another low point in what is shaping up to be one of the worst seasons in Giants history. They’re now tied with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Las Vegas Raiders for the worst record in football (2-9).
Banks, fellow Giants legend Amani Toomer and Madelyn Burke spoke about the game on MSG Network’s “Giants Postgame Live” show. The three believed they were on a commercial break while the show was still on air, and that’s where Banks was caught criticizing Malik Nabers:
“You know what’s so interesting too, is that our guys don’t value possessions. Even your top pick drops one, crossing route, has it, then he misses it. Then he’s on the sideline, which probably should have been an incomplete pass, he just catches, he’s lackadaisical and the guy knocks it out of his hands. I’m like, ‘Bro, you’re trying to score. Value these possessions.’”

You’ll notice that Banks didn’t mention Nabers’ name, but the “top pick” reference gives it away. New York used the No. 6 pick of the 2024 NFL Draft on Nabers, who’s been a bright spot in the Giants’ miserable season.
Through his first nine NFL games, Malik Nabers has 67 receptions for 671 yards and three touchdowns. This includes a pair of 100-yard outings, against the Washington Commanders and Dallas Cowboys.
Giants Need To Get Malik Nabers A Quarterback
The good news is that the Giants have a true superstar wide receiver (Nabers) to build around for the first time since the Odell Beckham Jr. days. But this team will not turn a corner until/unless they find a quarterback.
Daniel Jones was released less than two years after signing a $160 million extension. Tommy DeVito and Drew Lock obviously aren’t the solutions behind center. With a top-five pick on the way, the Giants will be in a good position to take a top QB prospect like Georgia’s Carson Beck or Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders.
The Entire Internet Is Destroying Troy Aikman For His Ridiculous Comment About Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy During Ravens-Chargers ‘MNF’ Game

NFL fans are having a field day teeing off on ESPN ‘Monday Night Football’ analyst Troy Aikman for his hot take on Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy during the Baltimore Ravens-Los Angeles Chargers game.
Troy Aikman and Joe Buck were on the call for the first meeting between brothers Jim and John Harbaugh since Super Bowl 47 back in the 2012 season. During the game, Aikman raised eyebrows when he complimented McCarthy as an excellent football coach:
It’s widely expected that McCarthy will be let go when his five-year contract expires in January. The Cowboys (4-7) are headed for their first losing season since 2020 and will fail to win a playoff game for the fourth time in five seasons under coach McCarthy.
Needless to say, social media wasted no time ripping on Troy Aikman for his strange take on Mike McCarthy:

McCarthy is 46-32-0 as the Cowboys’ head coach, but 1-3 in postseason games.
Troy Aikman’s Take Would Have Been Right 10 Years Ago
McCarthy looked to be on an easy Hall of Fame trajectory when he led the Green Bay Packers to a Super Bowl 45 championship in the 2010 season. But one can easily argue that Aaron Rodgers made McCarthy look better than he is, seeing that the latter has just a single playoff win in Dallas.
