New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw shade at his own teammates following Sunday’s gut-wrenching loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
Aaron Rodgers had another lackluster outing in Sunday’s loss to the visiting Seahawks, completing just 21 passes on 39 attempts for 185 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in a 26-21 loss.
Speaking to reporters after the game, the four-time league MVP was asked why his stats aren’t better despite better health. The 40-year-old Rodgers proceeded to not-so-subtly threw his teammates after the loss.
“There’s 11 guys on the field, you know. Sometimes it’s my fault.”
The key word by Rodgers there was “sometimes.” In other words, he was happy to place the blame on his own teammates.

Sunday’s loss to the Seahawks dropped New York to 3-9 on the year. They have clinched their ninth straight losing season, which is a tremendous letdown for a team that had Super Bowl aspirations coming into 2024.
Rodgers and the Jets will try to get back on a winning track when they visit the (also greatly) disappointing Miami Dolphins next Sunday.
Season Can’t End Soon Enough For Aaron Rodgers & Jets
The 2024 season truly cannot end soon enough for Rodgers and his hapless Jets. Nothing has gone right for a 3-win team that has already fired its head coach (Robert Saleh) and GM (Joe Douglas).
With only five games left, the Jets are playing for nothing but pride at this point.
RUMOR: New York Jets Expected To Release Aaron Rodgers After Neighboring Giants Cut Daniel Jones
The New York Jets could follow the New York Giants in cutting their starting quarterback, with Aaron Rodgers’ place in the team now rumored to be under threat following Daniel Jones’ exit.
Rodgers is clearly not the answer to the Jets’ problems. The veteran QB was expected to be the team’s savior, but that experiment has turned out to be an abject failure, and it doesn’t appear that he has much of a future in NY.
The Athletic’s Dianna Russini broke the news that the team’s owner, Woody Johnson, wanted to bench Rodgers and play Tyrod Taylor but allowed coaches to change his mind.
“After losing to Denver, Woody Johnson suggested in a contentious meeting that they bench Rodgers because he felt the QB wasn’t playing well. The coaches pushed back and asked each other if he was serious,” she wrote in a piece earlier this week.
NFL Insider Suggests The Jets Might Part Ways With Aaron Rodgers This Year
Russini has since reported that the team could do away with the QB altogether and release him before the end of the season.

The Jets won’t play this weekend as they’re in a bye, yet things might get interesting once the QB sits in front of reporters again.
Rodgers has indicated that he would like to keep going next season, however, it does not appear that it will be in a Jets uniform the way things have gone since they traded for him.
