The Washington Commanders are riding high in the first year with rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels.
After a thrilling overtime win over the Atlanta Falcons on “Sunday Night Football,” the Commanders quarterback decided to go out and be entertained by other athletes.
On Monday night, Daniels was spotted in attendance at the New York Knicks-Washington Wizards game in D.C.
The 2023 Heisman Trophy winner was sitting courtside with his mother.
As cameras trained on the both of them courtside for a quick video, Jayden Daniels could be seen with his phone near his ear while his mother was turned to him.
Soon, the young quarterback would drop his phone and acknowledge the camera while watching the game.

Fans couldn’t help but notice that Daniels’s mom told him to “Put the phone away.”
“Always a moms boy at the end of the day,” one fan said.
“Mama knows best,” another fan said of the interaction.
“Is he not a grown ass adult? These star athlete parents control everything in their lives since they could walk, now he’s a grown adult and she’s still telling him what to do? Very weird dynamic,” one upset guy added.
“When mom’s drop the final order, you gotta listen,” another X user said of Jayden daniels listening to his mother.
One final fan added: “Good job momma!”
Jayden Daniels Has Had A Dynamic Rookie Campaign
Daniels has had quite the rookie campaign.
Among his accomplishments, he became the second quarterback in NFL history with 5+ passing touchdowns, 250+ passing yards, and 75+ rushing yards in a game while also becoming the first rookie in NFL history with multiple game-winning passing touchdowns in the final 30 seconds of a game.
Jayden Daniels has completed 69.4% of his passes for 3,530 yards with 25 touchdowns to nine interceptions.
It seems he is the runaway winner for being named the Offensive Rookie Of The Year.
RUMOR: Washington Commanders Predicted To Land One Of The Most Dangerous Wide Receivers Available For Jayden Daniels In 2025

Jayden Daniels’ Washington Commanders have been football’s biggest surprise this season, but it’s never too early to look at how to improve the supporting cast around him.
Though Terry McLaurin is enjoying a monster season under Jayden Daniels (61 receptions for 896 yards and nine touchdowns), it’s evident that they need another receiver to help the young quarterback.
34-year-old tight end Zach Ertz is second in receiving on the Commanders with 75 catches for 501 yards and four touchdowns. Those are solid numbers for a No. 2 pass-catcher, but the offense could reach another level with another Pro Bowl-caliber target for Daniels.
Bleacher Report’s Matt Holder made the case for Washington to target Tampa Bay Buccaneers superstar wide receiver Chris Godwin in free agency. The Super Bowl 55 champion is in the last year of his contract:
“Godwin will be one of the most recognizable names on the open market and has plenty of experience being a productive No. 2 after playing alongside Mike Evans in Tampa Bay his entire career. The 28-year-old who turns 29 in February has racked up 7,266 yards and 39 touchdowns in his career.”

Godwin is recovering from a season-ending ankle injury he suffered in Week 7 against the Baltimore Ravens. In just seven games, he racked up 50 receptions for 576 yards and five touchdowns.
If he can get close to full strength, Godwin would be a perfect target for Jayden Daniels. This is a four-time 1,000-yard receiver who’d have six 1K seasons under his belt if he didn’t miss time to injury.
Of course, the Bucs will want to bring Godwin back if the price is right. But if he does hit the open market, there won’t be a shortage of teams interested in his services.
Adding Chris Godwin Would Make Jayden Daniels & Commanders Even More Dangerous
Daniels was playing like an MVP in the first half of the 2024 season. He’s come back down to earth a bit, but it’s clear that the Commanders finally have the franchise quarterback they’ve long sought.
An offense of Daniels, McLaurin, Brian Robinson and Austin Ekeler has been top-notch for most of the year. Adding another crafty playmaker like Godwin, though, could help Washington take that step to championship contender.
