ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith teed off on Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, even comparing him to U.S. president Joe Biden.
Jerry Jones has faced immense and justified criticism for the Cowboys’ struggles this season. Jones said in January that Dallas would be “all-in,” yet he didn’t make a single blockbuster move in the offseason.
Jones didn’t extend superstars CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott until August and September, respectively. Needing to put cap space aside for those two stars, no big moves were to be made in September once Jones completed the extensions.
Speaking on ESPN’s “First Take”, Smith expressed concern about Jones’ health and compared him to Biden. Amid concerns about his physical and mental health, Biden announced in the summer that he wouldn’t seek re-election for president.
“I’m getting very very worried about Jerry Jones. I find myself thinking about Joe Biden before he backed out of running for reelection. i think Jerry’s only one month older than President Joe Biden for crying out loud…
Somebody in your inner circle has to be able to stop you from just adding fuel to the fire, because it’s so bad right now, they’ve literally took the fun out of it.”
