After an impressive 15-season career, the three-time NBA champion has announced his retirement, marking the end of a significant chapter for someone recognized for his shooting skills and leadership. He announced his decision during an episode of his podcast, reflecting on his journey and expressing happiness about stepping away from the game.

Danny Green leaves behind a strong legacy, having won NBA championships with three different teams: the San Antonio Spurs in 2014, the Toronto Raptors in 2019, and the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020. “I’m officially moving on from the game of basketball, the NBA. It’s been a great run,” he stated. “To me, I’m very proud to be able to walk away from the game. I’m at peace with it.

Throughout his career, Green impressed everyone with his shooting, finishing with a 40% success rate from beyond the arc. He played for six teams: the Cleveland Cavaliers (2009-10, 2023), San Antonio Spurs (2010-18), Toronto Raptors (2018-19), Los Angeles Lakers (2019-20), Philadelphia 76ers (2020-22, 2023), and Memphis Grizzlies (2022-23).

Over his time in the league, he averaged 8.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 832 games, with 709 of those being starts. In the playoffs, he appeared in 169 games (159 starts), ranking ninth in NBA history with 315 playoff three-pointers.

His contributions went beyond scoring. Green was a key leader in the locker room and was named to the All-Defensive Team during the 2016-17 season. “People ask me, ‘How did you learn how to become a winner? How do you become a leader?‘” he shared. “And it’s the people before me, the people that have taught me, my coaches. They prepared me to be successful because ultimately I’m just a normal kid.

Danny Green’s Journey And Future Plans

Green’s career had its challenges. He faced injuries, including a severe ACL and LCL tear in 2022 that limited his appearances in the following seasons. Despite this, his hard work and determination helped him become one of the few players to make over 1,500 three-pointers while maintaining a 40% shooting percentage.

Looking ahead, Green is excited about his future plans, including endorsements. First, he intends to focus on his broadcasting career. Additionally, he aims to develop the GreenLight venture fund, which supports innovative entrepreneurs, and plans to expand his mentorship program, Between the Lines.

He also plans to continue his involvement in The Throne basketball tournament in partnership with the National Basketball Players Association. “I’m excited for the next chapter, the next journey,” he concluded, leaving fans and fellow players eager to see what he will achieve next.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield and his wife Emily have had to evacuate their home this week because of Hurricane Helene.

The hurricane hit northern Florida pretty hard, causing major flooding and power loss.

Mayfield, his wife Emily, their daughter, and their dog left their residence before the storm hit as a means of caution. Emily furnished her followers with an update on Friday.

“Baker, Koko, Fergus and I evacuated yesterday and are safe,” she said via Instagram. “Our sweet, sweet community got pummeled, but even that doesn’t compare to the people up North who took this storm head on. It’s unfathomable.”

Emily is grateful that Helene did not affect the Mayfield home but revealed she was “praying nonstop” for the people dealing with the impact while also offering tangible assistance.

“I am looking for ways to get out and tangibly help,” she added. “Please send me anything you find, and I will share the good ones.”
