Angel Reese simplifies Caitlin Clark's merits and Shaquille O'Neal corrects her with an epic explanation

Angel Reese has shared her thoughts on Caitlin Clark‘s widespread popularity in an episode of her podcast, “Unapologetically Angel.”

During a candid discussion with NBA icon Shaquille O’Neal, the Chicago Sky forward explored various topics, including Clark‘s impact as a rookie with the Indiana Fever.

The conversation shifted to how women’s basketball could evolve, particularly the need for more dunks in the game.

Reese, however, pointed out that even if dunking became more common, female players would still struggle to gain the same level of respect from male fans.

O’Neal, pushing the discussion further, asked Reese why she thought Caitlin Clark, in particular, had managed to capture so much attention.

“She can shoot 3s from logo,” Reese said.

To which O’Neal responded: “We’ve never seen that before. That’s my point. You know why I love Steph Curry? ‘Cause I’ve never seen that before. I’ve seen it a little bit in Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf, but I’ve never seen a guy consistently come down.”

Stood out in rookie season

Clark has been a standout player since being drafted first overall, turning heads with her scoring abilities and incredible shooting range.

Despite some early struggles, she adapted quickly, showcasing the skills that made her a star in college.

“Me and [Clark] are really good friends,” Shaq said.

“She reminds me of my daughter, so I mentor her at times. Like the time she was having a problem with Kim, I called her and I said ‘Hey, part of the game, don’t say nothing, don’t respond. Just take your punishment like a soldier and then come back.'”
