Barstool Sports has disclosed Jon Gruden’s first assignment after hiring the former NFL head coach.

Gruden was unveiled as the newest Barstool employee on Thursday, with owner Dave Portnoy posting a video announcement in which the Super Bowl-winning coach was seen dropping some football knowledge after taking over a tactical session.

PFT Commenter has since revealed that Gruden will be part of the crew live streaming this week’s primetime ‘Thursday Night Football’ clash between the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders.

“Me, coach Jon gruden, and max will be live streaming from the PMT couch commanders vs eagles for the top of the NFC East tonight. That is a sentence that would not of made any sense at all 10 years ago,” he shared in a tweet.

Jon Gruden Is Staying In The Game

While Gruden has been around the game, he hasn’t been able to land another coaching job since resigning as the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021.

Gruden stepped down after several emails in which he made racist, homophobic, and misogynistic remarks leaked to the press. The former ESPN analyst sent the emails between 2011 and 2018, and they were discovered during the NFL’s investigation of the Washington Commanders.

Gruden, 61, had signed one of the richest contracts in NFL history when he put pen to paper on a 10-year deal worth $100 million with Vegas in 2018 but was forced to resign in light of the leaks.

Since then, he has dabbled in various other football-related jobs, including starting his own podcast, and he’s now set to disperse his football knowledge as part of the Barstool crew, starting tonight.
