It has always been a contentious question whether NFL players might succeed in the NBA after switching to another league. Both leagues have extremely talented athletes. However, football is the only sport that suits former tight end Shannon Sharpe better.
During the “Club Shay Shay” podcast, Unc shared his thoughts on how NFL players outshine NBA players in terms of physical prowess. After speaking with Davante Adams, the former tight end came to the conclusion that football players are known for exceptional athletic achievements and that the physical demands of football are higher than those of basketball:
“Football players are the most athletic. They can jump the highest, they can run the fastest, they’re the strongest, they’re the toughest… Y’all got like 4 plays in basketball, we got 150 we gotta remember.”

Shannon Sharpe talks about NBA and NFL
He went on to compare the two things further, saying, “Football! We leap vertically while remaining motionless, they take a step, run, and jump.
Now, who better to end the NBA vs. NFL dispute than the best NFL podcaster? Sharpe’s remarks, though, are not novel in this discussion. Referencing NBA player Victor Wembanyama, Unc with Ocho had earlier said on the Nightcap podcast that football may break “Wemby.”
He implied that the severe physical demands of the NFL would make him struggle even with his exceptional skills. Even though his position was clear, it was a spark that reignited the social media debate about which sport is better than another.
