You would think that draft night at a sporting event would be the best moment of a young player’s career, but that was not the case for Caitlin Clark.

Clark, the top pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, shared her disappointment over missing out on celebrations and key moments during the event.

It came as a surprise to nobody when former Iowa Hawkeyes icon Caitlin Clark was selected by the Indiana Fever with the No. 1 pick given her historic career with the Iowa Hawkeyes.

On the outside looking in, it appeared that she was having the time of her life in New York.

However, during her appearance on the “Fresh Hawk” podcast that’s hosted by Clark’s former Hawkeyes teammate Jada Gyamfi, the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year actually revealed her true emotions on that night.

“I was so upset because after I got drafted, I just got drugged out immediately and I didn’t get to see any of the draft,” Caitlin Clark said on the podcast.

“I had my phone, but I really couldn’t go on it. It made me so upset. I didn’t even get to see Kate get drafted… but it made me really upset. Then we went and had fun, but… I didn’t even take pictures with you guys, my family, [boyfriend] Connor McCaffery—no one,” Clark continued.

Caitlin Clark Was Everything For The Indiana Fever In Her First Season

Clark graduated from Iowa as one of the most iconic players in NCAA history, setting the all-time scoring record in Division I basketball.

Following her selection to the Indiana Fever, she would go on to break several records, earn a spot on the WNBA All-Star team, and claim the league’s 2024 Rookie of the Year award.

Her play got the Fever back in the playoffs for the first time since 2016. Indiana finished the regular season with a record of 20-20 and were the sixth seed in the postseason.

Clark averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds during her rookie season.

Tom Brady may be reined in by FOX Sports following his awkward comment about Matt LaFleur that had the internet in stitches.

The former NFL quarterback called Sunday’s game between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions and liked what he saw where Green Bay’s head coach was concerned as he waxed lyrical over the 45-year-old Michigan native.

“Look at that perfect little moustache, goatee that he’s got,” Brady said right before a third-and-three. “We can’t see his hair today. But I was so impressed when I saw him in the tunnel, such a handsome guy. he said he spends $100 a week to keep himself looking like that.”

Kevin Burkhardt, his booth partner, could only offer a “Wow.”
