WNBA standout Caitlin Clark showed her support at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Friday night as the Butler Bulldogs took on the Merrimack College Warriors. Wearing a Butler hoodie featuring the school’s mascot, Clark was there to cheer on her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, who recently joined Butler’s coaching staff as an assistant.
The Bulldogs didn’t disappoint with Clark in the stands, delivering a dominant 78-39 victory. The game turned into a rout in the second half, where Butler outscored Merrimack 41-8.
Key performances included Pierre Brooks II with 23 points and 12 rebounds, and Andre Scheen, who added 12 points and nine rebounds off the bench. With the win, Butler improved to 4-1 on the season.
Clark, who has been a regular attendee at Butler games this year, has a strong connection to the program through McCaffery, her boyfriend of over a year.
“It’ll be fun to go to those games,” Clark said back in September.
“I love college basketball, and obviously he’s been around it his whole life and invested a lot into it. It’ll be fun, it’ll give me something to do all throughout the offseason as well, give me someone to root for, but it’s definitely still ‘Go Hawks.'”

McCaffery’s basketball background
McCaffery, a former Iowa Hawkeye, started his coaching journey with the Indiana Pacers before joining Butler. The McCaffery family has deep ties to basketball-Connor’s brother Patrick transferred to Butler this season, and their youngest sibling, Jack, is set to join next year.
“I’m super excited for him, obviously his basketball knowledge is pretty good, and it makes it fun when we can bounce ideas off of each other,” Clark added. “I’m just super proud, he worked super hard for that.”

A photo of a female hockey fan who was busting out of her jeans at a Leafs-Devils game in early 2024 has gone viral online again.
Said supporter was pictured in the stands wearing a Devils Jack Hughes jersey, but that was probably the least interesting thing about her as a lower body part caused her to trend on X.
A new set of photos of her showing her assets off has popped up online ahead of the weekend, with one of the accounts posting asking, “Are you a hockey fan?”
