Caitlin Clark, the WNBA Rookie of the Year, has been a prominent figure both on and off the court. Her relationship with Connor McCaffery, an assistant coach at Butler University, has intertwined her life with the McCaffery family’s basketball endeavors. This connection extends to Connor’s brother, Patrick McCaffery, a standout player for the Butler Bulldogs.
Patrick McCaffery has demonstrated remarkable improvement this season, particularly in his three-point shooting. Currently, he ranks second in the Big East, boasting a 47% success rate from beyond the arc, a significant leap from his 31% average last season. This development has been attributed, in part, to the rigorous coaching of his brother, Connor.
“As hard as Connor is on Patrick, I think it’s great for us. It’s good for our program overall,” Butler’s head coach, Thad Matta, said.
Clark’s influence is also perceived as a contributing factor to Patrick’s enhanced performance. Her presence at Butler games has been a constant since the start of her offseason, providing support and perhaps inspiration. The bond between Clark and the McCaffery family appears strong, with her attending games alongside Connor’s family members, including during Thanksgiving.
Despite Patrick’s individual success, the Butler Bulldogs have faced challenges, losing four of their last five games. In a recent loss to Marquette, Patrick contributed 13 points, maintaining his efficiency from the three-point line by hitting two out of four attempts. His consistent performance has been a bright spot amid the team’s struggles.

The McCaffery brothers’ collaboration at Butler is a continuation of their time together at the University of Iowa, where they both played under their father, Fran McCaffery. Patrick’s decision to transfer to Butler after graduating from Iowa, followed by Connor’s move from an assistant coaching position with the Indiana Pacers to Butler, has kept their professional paths intertwined.
As the season progresses, the synergy between Connor’s coaching and Patrick’s on-court execution, coupled with Clark’s supportive presence, will be pivotal in the Bulldogs’ pursuit of success. The blend of familial bonds and professional dedication continues to shape their journey in collegiate basketball.

Taylor Swift is no longer on tour, but she still chose not to attend the Chiefs game.
Swift concluded her Eras Tour earlier this month before traveling to Kansas City. She had closed out her record-breaking Eras Tour with nine concerts in Toronto and Vancouver.
Swift has been a member of Chiefs Kingdom since she started dating Kelce in the summer of 2023.
Despite rampant speculation throughout town, Swift was not in attendance for Kelce’s homecoming as the Cleveland Browns hosted the Chiefs for their Week 15 meeting.
Many took to social media and called out the pop star for being cowardly and not wanting to face the Dawg Pond.
“Taylor Swift said Thxs but no Thxs to attending a game in Cleveland,” one fan said while posting a GIF of her singing.
