Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever officially resumed basketball activities last week in preparation for the return of the 2024 WNBA season next week. The Fever went nearly two weeks without basketball following the WNBA All-Star game, and the month-long break for the 2024 Paris Olympics is nearing its end.
On Monday, Clark and the rest of her Fever teammates participated in a pre-practice competition. The entire roster was split into two teams and engaged in a scavenger hunt throughout the practice facility. Clark led one team, while Lexie Hull led the other. Clark’s team emerged victorious, and she showcased her competitive spirit with a message to the losing team.
“How’s it feel to lose?” Clark shouted after her team won.
Clark is off to a tremendous start to her WNBA career. Through 26 games, the former Iowa Hawkeyes star is averaging 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, and a league-leading 8.2 assists. She also has led the Fever to a prime position to make the WNBA playoffs, sitting at 11-15 on the season.
Clark has also broken many records during her rookie year. She became the first-ever rookie to record a triple-double. She also broke the record for most assists in a single game with 19 in their most recent game.
Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22) passes the ball past Dallas Wings guard Odyssey Sims (2) during the second half at College Park Center.
In their next game, the Fever will face the Phoenix Mercury on Friday, August 16. They will have just 14 games remaining in the 2024 season, excluding playoffs.
