Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever teammate makes smart financial move without her

Caitlin Clark during an Indiana Fever game.

For the first time in a while, Caitlin Clark will actually have time to rest and recuperate with a proper offseason. After finishing her college career at Iowa in April, Clark was drafted 1st overall to the Indiana Fever shortly after and then quickly began the 2024 WNBA season. She has barely had time to rest physically or mentally, which is why all signs point to her taking plenty of time to relax with the next WNBA season not starting until May.

But despite the time off being a godsend for Clark, many have wondered if it’s simply too much time. It would be nearly seven months without any type of competitive basketball. WNBA players know it’s an issue, and that’s why some of them have created a 3-on-3 basketball league called “Unrivaled”. It will give WNBA players a way to stay in shape and in form during the offseason, while also bringing them some extra money through partnerships.

Many notable players have confirmed they will join already, but Clark hasn’t. She has been adamant she wants the offseason to relax, but it’s possible she may get swayed now.

Lexie Hull joins Unrivaled Basketball League

Clark’s Fever teammate, Lexie Hull, was announced as the newest signing for Unrivaled on Wednesday.

Clark and Hull have strong chemistry on and off the court, so Hull will definitely be trying to get Clark to commit. The league has made several pitches to Clark, knowing getting her to join would be a huge financial boon for Unrivaled due to the viewership and attendance numbers Clark can deliver.

Reports have stated that players in the Unrivaled Basketball League will make a minimum of $100,000, with the average being $250,000. It’s a big step up from WNBA salaries, although money isn’t really a motivating factor for Clark due to her endorsement deals.
