Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott revealed the wholesome message he had for Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson after the latter suffered a gruesome injury in Sunday’s game at AT&T Stadium.

Hutchinson had to be carted off the field after suffering a leg injury in the third quarter of the Lions’ 47-9 blowout win over Dak Prescott’s Cowboys. It was later announced that he underwent surgery to repair a fractured tibia and fibula, and it’s unclear if Hutchinson will return this season.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Prescott shared the classy message he had for Detroit’s star pass-rusher following the heartbreaking scene that unfolded, via Garrett Podell of CBS Sports:

“Obviously, that’s tough to watch, as you said, having experienced it, knowing where he is in that moment. Hated it. Hated every bit of it. But for me, initially, I just told him to keep his head up. It’s part of the story. I promise, the way that this guy started his career, the guy he seems to be, not knowing him, he’ll be better after it. I know it’s probably hard to imagine right now.

Then the last part, I just told him [on the field] it’s part of the story. It’s part of his story…So, game changer, wishing him the best in his recovery. I know it’s going to be a mental challenge as much as it is physical, but the way that he started his career, and the player that he seems to be, I imagine he’ll be just fine and recover from it.”

Hutchinson had one sack, three quarterback hits and a tackle for a loss in the Lions’ 47-9 victory that moved them to 5-1 on the year. Winners of three straight, the Lions will look to claim sole possession of first place in the NFC North when they visit the 5-0 Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
