The Cleveland Browns have drawn a swathe of comments from fans on social media following what they tweeted after Deshaun Watson left the field injured on Sunday.
The Browns have lost their starting quarterback for the remainder of the season, which they must be used to by now, given that he’s never managed to play a full term since joining the team via trade.
Watson went down against the Cincinnati Bengals earlier today, hitting the deck and immediately writhing in pain. It wasn’t hard to guess that he had sustained a serious injury due to a lack of contact.
The Browns eventually confirmed a ruptured Achilles. But, before doing so, they strangely shared a tweet reading, “LET’S GOOOOOOOOOOO.”
Fans had all sorts of things to say after coming across the tweet.
“Celebrating your QB getting injured when you could have just benched him is wild,” someone commented.
“That’s how we all feel about Watson,” another claimed.
“Ik y’all happy abt dat dude getting injured,” someone else wrote.
“U know what ur doing not going into specifics😭😭😭,” a comment read.
“We’re excited too!! Can you get out of Deshaun Watson’s contract now? And LET JAMEIS START!!!!” read another.
“Admin knew what he was doing 😭,” someone added.
Deshaun Watson Is Not Very Popular Around The NFL
Deshaun Watson is not that liked around the league; his own fanbase even wants him gone due to his failure to deliver after securing a massive, fully guaranteed contract with the Browns.
There were also rumors of the team leaning toward releasing him amid his legal troubles, but we’d hate to think they’d actually celebrate his injury.
