LeBron James and Stephen Curry are frequently mentioned in discussions about top NBA player rankings. Their four championships each solidify their status as prominent figures deserving of recognition on any list.

Despite their impressive legacies, a recent ranking by HoopsHype for the 2024-25 NBA season has placed both stars outside the top 10. James and Cur have been mainstays at the top of player rankings for years. But HoopsHype ranked them 13th and 14th, respectively.

The list highlights the top 25 players in the league, featuring Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as the top three players. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid round out the top five.

NBA fans were disappointed with Tyrese Haliburton’s placement ahead of LeBron James and Stephen Curry in the rankings. Curry and James were pivotal in leading Team USA to gold at the Paris Olympics, while Haliburton had a more limited role in that victory.

Following their strong performance in the Olympics, many expected Curry and James to be ranked higher. Fans believed that their contributions on the international stage would boost their rankings accordingly. Hence, they couldn’t help but disagree with the rankings.
