Roddy White, a former Atlanta Falcons star, took an unnecessary shot at the Clemson Tigers on Saturday afternoon.

No. 13 Clemson was hoping to start the season with an upset over No. 1 Georgia, but the team could only manage to score three points as they got blown out behind Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck throwing two touchdowns in the second half while Nate Frazier and Cash Jones ran for one touchdown each.

Georgia won the game 34-3.

On X, formerly Twitter, Roddy White had a disturbing comment about the number of white players on the team that seemed to hint at a recruiting problem.

“Clemson got way to (sic) many White dudes on the field on offense this ain’t them. U mean to tell me u only got one Black dude out there making plays that’s a recruiting problem,” White wrote on X this past weekend.

Head coach Dabo Swinney has built the Tigers into a national powerhouse and won two national championships with Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence as his quarterbacks.

He has had players like Watson, Dwayne Allen, Vic Beasley, Da’Quan Bowers, Travis Etienne, Clelin Ferrell, Mitch Hyatt, Shaq Lawson, Isaiah Simmons, John Simpson, C.J. Spiller and Christian Wilkins on the team.

After major backlash surrounding his comment, Roddy White went back on X and apologized for his words.

“I am getting a lot of blow back for the to many white players comment I apologize if someone thought I was being racist which everybody around me knows I’m not. I looked out there and 10 of the 11 players were white I can’t recall ever seeing a Clemson team like that,” White wrote.

Roddy White Did Not Attend Big Time School Before NFL Career

Roddy White, an Atlanta Falcons Ring of Honor inductee, is going viral for all the wrong reasons after he mentioned the Clemson Tigers’ having too many white guys on the team during their loss to Georgia.

It may seem like an upset alum, but White actually attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham and played football for three seasons, from 201 to 2004.

Roddy White was a star at UAB as he caught 163 passes for 3,112 yards and 26 touchdowns in four seasons before he moved on to be the 27th overall pick in the 2006 draft by the Falcons.

The 2024 Paris Olympics was Stephen Curry’s first ever appearance in the Paris Olympics. The Golden State Warriors star poured so much athleticism into his first appearance on the international stage that caught everyone’s attention, including popular NBA analyst Skip Bayless.

After Team USA’s 98-87 victory over France in the Olympics final, LeBron James was crowned with the MVP title of the tournament. Soon after that, Bayless stirred controversy by posting on social media that LeBron should not win the MVP title. Rather, the sports analyst sees Curry as the real winner of the title.

I’M SORRY, NOW THERE’S NO WAY LEBRON IS MVP. IT HAS TO BE STEPH. 17 THREES IN THE SEMI AND THE FINAL. WE WOULD NOT HAVE WON EITHER WITHOUT HIM,” Bayless wrote in an X post.

Curry scored 24 points in the final game against France. With his outstanding shooting skills, the Warriors star hit eight three-pointers, three of which came in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter. On the other hand, James contributed 14 points and 10 assists and shot an impressive 60% from the field.
