Jason Kelce has pushed back on recent claims made by Torrey Smith in the wake of the NFLPA’s request to the NFL to outlaw locker room interviews.
NFL locker rooms are considered sacred, yet reporters are allowed to enter them for interviews after every game. As you would expect, this has led to players’ privates being shown on the air on occasion.
The Players’ Association recently released a statement seeking to have interviews moved somewhere else.
Smith responded to the statement by stating that some male reporters stare at player packages while in the locker room.
“If only y’all knew how awkward some of the male reporters act. Straight meat watchers,” the former wide receiver tweeted.

Travis Kelce Didn’t Mind Reporters In The Locker Room, Tells Players To Hide Their Privates
Kelce discussed the comment during this week’s episode of his ‘New Heights’ podcast, insisting it never bothered him, although he did admit it was weird having people in there.
“I’m not gonna lie. It is a little weird that people are in there,” he began. “But I don’t mind. I never minded.”
His brother, Travis Kelce, whom he runs the podcast with, seemed a bit surprised, prompting the former Eagles star to explain further.
“I don’t think this is the problem that it’s being made out to be,” he continued. “I really, honestly think guys just don’t want to be interviewed in the locker room. And a lot of guys are crying wolf right now to try and get reporters out of the locker room.
“It’s so easy to just not show your d**k to everybody. Put a towel on or go into the bathroom that they aren’t in. Like, they’re not in the showers like ‘hey, how’d you catch that ball?!’ Like, you can definitely not show your d**k if you don’t want to, guys.”
While Kelce is mostly okay with it, others clearly feel differently. Whether it’s enough to sway the league is something else entirely, however.
