Jimmy Butler, the star player of the Miami Heat, is returning for the new NBA season after missing the playoffs last year. The 35-year-old star suffered an MCL sprain during a play-in game against the Philadelphia 76ers, leading to the Heat’s loss against the Boston Celtics in the first round of the NBA playoffs last season.

Butler played in four out of five preseason games of the new NBA preseason, but in the game against the San Antonio Spurs, the Heat star engaged in a verbal altercation with the Spurs’ point guard, Chris Paul. Fans were eager to know the content of Butler’s comments to Paul during their trash-talking, and recently, leaked audio posted by LegendZ has shed light on the exchange.

Paul: “I got 20 years in this sh*t”

Butler: “I don’t give a f*ck how many years you got… I don’t give a f*ck!”

Butler finished the game with 12 points, 1 assist, and four rebounds, while Paul scored 13 points, 5 assists, and two rebounds. The Heat emerged victorious with a score of 120-117. Butler is known for his bold style and has been involved in many heated altercations on several occasions. He once behaved rudely towards Nick Vertucci during a poker game alongside the football star Neymar.

Pat Riley Shares His Thoughts On Jimmy Butler’s Contract Concerns

Butler will become a free agent next summer if he declines his $52.4 million player option. Speculations about his decision are a hot topic among NBA analysts and fans. In light of this topic, the President of the Miami Heat, Pat Riley, expressed his honest opinion.

“I haven’t had a lot of conversation with Jimmy about it. I’ve talked to his agent at times…. I don’t have to sit down and have these meetings with [Butler] any more. He’s a very intelligent man.” Riley said to Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald.

The Heat won four consecutive preseason games after dropping the first one. Butler will start his new NBA season with the first game against the Orlando Magic.
